I dunno if im correct in what im sayin but i think i either saw a fliyer or someone told me that vibealite were gona get rid of there tape packs and sell live CD's?
Anybody know why they dont do this anyway? Im sure tapes are cheeper but there crap. I hate it when a tape ends up playin the wrong way round or when its almost impossible to hear. Are Cd's that much more expencive?
Only thing i'm worried about is you get 8-12 tapes in a tapepack, how many cd's would you get, 2?

Tape packs are illegal, thats why they are tapes. If they would start selling them on CD's, they would cross the line and hurt the CD sales, where some of the money actually goes to the artists. If they are going to start selling live CD's without paying the royalties, IMO they should be sued.

The reason they're changing to CD's is so they can be properly licensed and the artists get what they deserve.

If this is the case, then it is excellent news :)

From the Vibealite statement posted a while back -
We plan to do no more tape packs after June 18th event and instead to
move forward by providing an officially licensed LIVE CD albums where the
royalties are correctly and legally distributed amongst the hardworking DJs,
producers, labels who up until now have allowed such material to be supplied
free on tape packs.

I'd be much more in support of buying those - the artists get a decent cut and i dont have to swap the damn thing over every 30mins!

In a way I like tapes better, If i have a CD or MP3s i alwayz skip all the time and burn out all the best tunes, with tapes im kinda forced to listen to the whole mix, so i dont burn out the best tunes as much and i listen to the tunes i wuddnt normaly listen to as much :)

thats the thing that anoys me about cd's over vinyl.. you can instantly go to a part of a tune that you want. which is why i prefer buying vinyl over mp3. plus i think mp3 are over priced for what they are
