I'd be elated to see the US team make it to the semi-finals, I'm just happy we're ranked 6th right now...just need to beat the mexicans =P I think it's interesting that the US gets better at football but slips in other major sports at the olympics =P
I don't think england will win the cup...I'd really like to see holland play well since they haven't the past several years =P
"we'll delete the weak"
Dont think ive seen a Dutch side play well since 1988 or there abouts. They should be one of the best teams in the world.
Spain(same as the Dutch they should be much better) will not win nor will England(we are often poor in attack and average in midfield)
Its between Brazil(Adriano,Ronaldinho etc need i say more), Germany (Home advantage and well their German) and maybe Italy depending on how they play.
I also think a lot will depend on the draw of the group stages
Scratch Germany and Italy, Argentina would do them both.
This year England have a ****in great team this year, best chance in years.
Sorry i must disagree with you there, Englands best chance was 4 years ago (god was it that long ago!?) at the World Cup in Japan when they fought so well but just lost out to Brazil even when Brazil had 10 men. If they would have beat Brazil then they would have been made men, anything they wanted. No problem, the best teams were out (France & Argentina then) and after Brazil the only other 'biggie' they would have had to overcome would have been Germany, and heck we have done, not long before that (5-1 unless anyone needed reminding which you did not!) and hence if England would have won Brazil in that quater-final, they would have had a massive morale boost whilst us at home have a massive erection and England bring the cup home no problem, bob's your uncle!
Now however, we have to overcome all the big teams over again. Yes this time we're stronger and yes we wont face all of them and yes we do have Rooney, but it's still a challenge...
still a massive bloody challenge for the lads, and you know what, England expects. I will be suprised, but pleasently, if England win the World Cup.

We didn't do anything amazing last world cup at all, we drew with sweeden, drew with nigeria, beat argentina through a penalty, and fairenuff we beat denmark 3-0 but they are quite a medioka team and then lost to brazil. This year i expect us to win every game in the group, anything less would be a huge disapointment. It looks set for us this year to meet portugal in the quarter finals and brazil in the semi-finals so don'y look to good, but if we pick up some sort of form before the semi's then i fancy our chances.

Why was I not surprised to see this post!
Agreed tho
BTW Bristolboy before you start whining about everyone getting on your back - it is cos some of us just cannot understand the mentality of people just wanting to fight all the time!
If that is how you get your kicks then so be it but stop bloody going on about it on this forum!!!
And I will remember to avoid Bristol from now on even though I have happy memories of Lakota!
