why when i buy records from over seas i always get customs duty advanced fees for like 7-10$$ sent to me a few days later by the company that shipped it.
fedex, dhl, ups, ps
i just get them and toss them otta here.
i aint payin notin.

There better not be, I was freaking out by seeing prices for records double with shpping costs to be sent to America.

I've only had that happen to me once...and I wouldn't suggest throwing them away since fedex sent me a notice that they were going to take me to small claims court if I didn't pay the one that they had sent me =P

also happens in europe with the vat
its just a goods tax (luckly aussies arnt hit by it)

I've had it with some stuff (not records fortunately) that have been sent from the US. However, if you get the store to put "gift" on whatever paperwork, and on the parcel itself then you shouldn't have to pay duty.
