I havent been a member to this site for long, but ive listened to hardcore
for over 10 yrs., And I have heard all these simple program sounds, but i
dont hear any real originality with the music. Dont everyone jump to
the conclusion and be so critical , but analog sounds created by multiple
instruments are the foundations of how the music started and the success of
it. not slapped together on the computer and digitized. Maybe try to create
sounds that have not been programmed or heard before.

Yup far too many "producers" around with hardly any talent.

i prefer analog instruments. that's the whole reason I buy keyboards...only downside is they take up too much room =P

digital is good but nothing beats the warm fuzzy noises you can get out of old synths

Get rackmount versions :P

Yeah i prefer analogue sounds for alot of things, but when it comes to Trance leads and similar sounds, digital synths are best :)

i dont think talent has much to do with what synths ppl have..
the composistion of the song itself takes the most work+skill. picking instruments is an important skill...but ppl are still limited by what they have/can afford.

jdub isn't talking about "picking instruments... "

He's talking about creating them,

NEW SOUNDS that haven't been hammered to death by everyone and their dog...

I don't mean that you necessarily have to have different instruments that
cost a lot. YOU CAN ALWAYS TAKE REAL AUDIO SOUNDS AND RECORD
THEM TO A CASSETTE TAPE AND DOWNLOAD THEM INTO THE PROGRAM
(whether the sounds are made by a stick hitting the wall, the air, the
ocean, or your pet dog barking. Ive been taking real audio sounds
for years and downloading them and tweaking them out to sound totally
unique. SO YOU DONT HAVE TO BE RICH TO DO THAT. Everybody has a
computer dont they?

Ingenuity and creative thinking with what you have is the key!

you're misusing 'analog,' computers don't make analog sounds

one of my favourite sounds was taking the windows error message wav, run it through the waldorf and put it in a loop over a amen break

I should buy more racks, but keyboards just look cooler =P

quite a debate going on now..

im gonna throw another spanner in the works tho just for fun..

what if i dont have a microphone?

(yes im just being stupid lol!)

also..i think what this same soundingness really ammounts to is that after so long it get harder and harder to be original. while 2 songs may be entirely different..they can have exactly the same sound to them. they have the same feel..producers i think in general try and stick with what works..but it changes all the time! its been said before tho. the big fish are swamping the little ones. while the established producers have done there thing to get where they are...i feel that it always the getting there stage that always brings out the best sound and feel in there music.

im waffaling now BTW lol
so i'll just shut up!
