like the "happy hardcore" techno. Im trying to find out what very old techno sounded like before or at the begining of hardcore around the 80s era

There really was no techno in the 80's just electronic music which progressed to what we consider early rave music in the late 80's.

there was techno in the 80s but it was call new wave/techno rock. and man i glad i was around that time to listen those songs.

didnt Kraftwerk invent electronic music? i have read these guys where big genius ....the build there own hardware synths to make music

i wasn't around when that music was out but my dad lied to me about his music taste. found some oooold tapes hidden in a shoebox. that was a good night.

the 80s had synth rock. Now electronica though. Well not really. Early 90s got into dance music a bit. And thats pretty much were it started i think.

soft cell rocks!
some industrial bands have put out tunes that sound very electro/new wave.
it's not like I'm admitting to liking big hair bands =P
and besides, there wouldn't of been very many 'happy' hardcore songs with lyrics in the mid to late 90s without 80s music =P

I'm surprised that there has been no mention of Detroit yet. The early efforts of Juan Atkins, Derrick May, Stacey Pullen, etc laid the groundwork for modern techno.

Yep. Planet Rock brought Kraftwerk to the Bronx, which started the whole electro revolution.
