just wondering but why are Americans called Americans, and yet im called a Canadian??? i live in Canada, they live in the United States, but we're both part of North America, so shouldnt they be called like Unitedians or some crazy fun shit like that??? o.O

no im a security guard at a warehouse, from 3:30 to 12 so my job is to cruise cool forums until i die of bordom (around 7ish) so i start thinking about the stupidest shit and yes this was one of my Brainchildren.

only in the U.S. do we not use the unifying term "American". Here we split everyone up more by giving out names for everyone.
"No, I'm not American. I'm African American, even though I was born and raised in the states."
"Yes, my parents moved to this country, they have an accent and own their own store. That means I'm not an American, I"m Asian, even though I was also born and raised in the states."
"Latino baby! I have my green card and I'm a legal citizen, but don't call me an American."
And I'm sure as hell not an American. I'm just White.
This country needs to pull its head out of its buttocks.
