my room is the only room in my house that has an exellent sound system me and my friend made, my point is that i installed it for 2 reasons.
1. My other friends DIG it!
2. i like to play hardcore nice and loud. (ive had neibour comlaints left right and center)
i mostly do it when i come home early when my pearents are still at work.
lol. the times i crank it up while my pearents are in the house, they chuck a mental, telling me to "turn that crap off".
or my dad turns off the power to my room, which extremly suxs.
I WANT to know WHY so many people hate our hardcore?
i feel as if im being singled out because im the only one who likes it in my entire famly and friends.
and does it happen to anyone else here? besides me???

Most people cant see past the kick and the bpm, all they hear is boom boom boom boom. Generally people don't want to look any further so they never see past it, this means they never get to appreciate the music properly.
Fortunately most of my friends are into hardcore and my parents at least appreciate it so it's never been a problem for me.

Try living in uni halls, were there is 200 people who all hate hardcore because they think its chav music.
I don't have a system in my room, but i have an awesome bass amplifier for my bass guitar which is capable of gigging. I connect my laptop to it, and it can go VERY loud. I don't even play my guitar anymore, i just use the amp for some banging tunes.
im not very technical, but i know the amp has a 100w head unit, and the speaker cone is 15 inch.

I really hate it when me mates listen to the music in my car and say its all just drum and bass. If it was why isnt it called drum'n'bass heaven 2 then. As bulby g said they just hear the kicks and think, 'this isn't music'.

haha that's awesome, have to remember that
have you tried listening to what your stereo sounds like outside of your room? most of the time all people can hear is (like bulby said) the bass drum and it gets annoying real quick

Everyone that listens to it when I turn it on love it or hate it, never it is just ok. Most people say it is too "happy" for them, or that it is too fast too dance to. But when I play it everyone dances and likes it. Just mostly the people just tell me it is just so fast to keep dancing for an extended amount of time.

My mum is learning to adjust to the shaking walls quite well
She tolerates happy hardcore and didn't mind when I played Silvers mix from HT3 in the car. She got past the "boom boom boom boom" but just thinks it's a bit fast.
As for my friends, most of them like it, along with most other genres. One mate of mine, Rummer, who got me into it in the first place is the one I talk to about events, CDs and other hardcore. He is a huge fan with a collection probably bigger than most of yours. The others just buy bonkers mainly.

bah you blokes are lucky. people where i live are the biggest trend whores ever. Last term i had a good 2 hour long argument with on guy becuae he didn't think and form of electronica was music, let alone hardcore. he kept saying "boom boom boom snare, look i've got a song now". and funny thing was he was arguing with a friend whose now a locol celebrity dj, so my buudy knew his shit. pulled out the laptop and said "alright, make me a tune" end of argument.
but the thing now is that same dude now, just absolutley loves goa-psy trance, trance and house. same year everyone else here started listening to electronica.
still i get cast out in terms of music, as i'm the only one in the school that listens to hardcore, because aparently they've all been listening to dance and wahtnot for ever, so they can say whats cool and what ain't. silly f#ckin trendies. get your own style!

Do you really expect your mum to like hardcore in all fairness?
Its not exactly Greece Lightning now is it?
As for "getting singled" out?
Please man, spare us from the teen angst.
Your Dad cut the power to the room because obviously your playing it to loud, and if your pissing off the neighbours, that just proves you need to get your volume in check.
How would you like it if they were blasting out hip hop or something late at night at crazy levels?
People dont hate your hardcore, they just hate the fact that your obviously doing a 'linkin park with it.

hold on a sec. now you have no right to say that!
if i like my music i have reason to play it loud. ive had long dicussions with my mum about it mainly because im not the only one who has music up loud.
my mum plays her "NORTHERN SOUL" music from the '60's' up loud friday nights, and i dont complain.
And this "spare us from the teen angst.' you say. id like to see what you complain about.
you sound like my neibour.
practice what you preech!

Thought this was about the old scooter tune 'Crank it up'...what a fcuking tune!!
Perhaps the reasoning behind people calling it 'boom boom boom' music is that when played loud (In cars, rooms, clubs) The only noise reaching out to others who aren't there are the basslines. It's only when played at lower volumes and people take the time to listen (as bulby G said) that they realise it's not only a kickdrum.
