i used to have it where only a few people lyked hardcore. i supose it was because i was to young. i used to show people some decent tunes, and they would be lyk "call this music? sounds more lyk a cat hitting its hollow head against the curb"
that anoyed me. but the thing which rele anoyed me was that a couple of years later they are listenin 2 the same tune, absolutly loving it, and claiming that its their music. thats all people can ever do. they just claim the music as theirs.
1. how can it be theres?
2. hardcore is no1s music. you cant own a music unless you engerneered the whole sound. for example dr dre engerneered the sound of g funk or whatever it is (but thats a different story)
hardcore is a lifestyle. not just a music... and i think thats what people cant understand.

If all of you know people who dislike Happyhardcore, Try playing Dutch hardcore then...
My dad got so upset with my playing my Thunderdome cds, he threw my stereo out of the window where it smashed to bits on the pavement
He threatend to burn my aussies if I wouldn't listen... I Still hate him for it.
So when I moved out I got in this extremely noise-sensative flat.
My neighbours are not to fond of my hardcore, so I keep it low profile
Sometimes I hear their music, opera, hahaha... Anjd other times they hear me spinning on the decks.
Be we have a good understanding lucky for me, aye

I love my hardcore. Passionately. The buzz i get out of my hardcore is next to nothing else i've ever experienced. Yet, it must be said, whatever the music genre, if i can hear to blasting from the next room, the treble generally doesn't manage to get through the wall, just the bass. Because of this you do just get this repetitive banging noise.
That's no insult to hardcore or anything else with a strong bass in it. All that is, is your listening to a toned down segment of a song.
My point here is that whatever the music is, whether someone may like the genre or not, is that if all you can hear is rumbling through a wall for a couple of hours, its bound to get annoying.
I don't care whether or not other people like my hardcore, in fact i couldn't care less. Its just a matter of respecting other people (unless i actually really don't like them in which case i'll give them a fistful of bass, but that's personal ).
besides, i'd rather enjoy my tunes without being disturbed, and if that means that i have to listen through headphones full blast while i'm mixing, or playing computer or something, then so be it.
Don't make hardcore about proving to the world how dedicated you are to something they don't have a clue about; make yourself about following what you enjoy and finding like minded people to share your experiences with a enjoy together what hardcore music represents to all of you.
I know i'd enjoy that more than hearing neighbours banging on my door with court orders. Not cool.

As usual, I agree with what Jester said 110%! Whilst I admit that Hardcore is more fun when played LOUD! It doesn't *have* to be that loud to enjoy it. As has been said, its about respecting other people. Respect them, and they will respect you, simple as.
And yeah, people can't see past the 4/4 kick as that is usually only the low frequencies that pass through walls (high frequencies get absorbed) so all they hear is a muffled thud thud thud thud. After about 20 minutes it does get annoying - especially when your trying to listen to your own music, or concentrate on something. If your not a fan of 4/4 kick based dance music of any sort then when you hear it out of its muffled form, you immedietely assosciate it with the kid next door who refuses to turn his music down and makes your relaxation time hell.
I like my hardcore.... no scrathc that, I LOVE my hardcore, but we had a neighbour who used to play his Hixxy Bonkers CDs loud. Sometimes it was very loud and I didn't mind it too much unless I was trying to concentrate - in fact it saved our electricity as I didn't have my stereo on! lol! But alot of hte time it was at that annoying level where it was just thud thud thud, and that was incredibly annoying - especially when your trying to work or watch TV, or listen to your own music. It also rattled our dogs and got them upset and wound up, and stopped my baby sister going to sleep wether it was just loud or VERY loud. It was never a case of not liking the music itself though.
