I don't wanna sound like a right sad bastard but i can't be arsed getting piss all on christmas day and so need to get hold of an xbox 360.
Im planning on doing the midnight cruise thing... tryin to find a shop that'll have sum in.
Anyone else doin summet similar or have any ideas of what shops i've got the biggest chance of gettin one from or whatever?
Apparently Asda and Tesco should have some in at midnight....

The only other option i know other than tesco/asda(you would probably need to be there early) is getting the cheaper pack then buying the HD etc. Game had some pre orders left a at the start of the week.

paying 20bucks a month earlier for the first few in, is better then waiting in the cold for the shop to open at midnight

It's out tomorrow and i've already got a pre-order, but i've jus missed the first batch by a few places. There's a rumoured second batch but nothin definate.

from what ive heard people who have pre-ordered are being informed they are going to have to wait till february, personally i am waiting for the PS3

Personally I am gonna be waiting for the PS3 to hit. Because buying either system entails you to buy a HDTV as well because if you don't it is like playing just all the high end games on the current generation systems. I don't know about over in the UK but in the US the are expensive to high heaven and a good one will cost you MORE than the console. But reportedly the PS3 might run on 120 fps which is kinda cool but no TV can refresh that fast(yet). Japan is currently working on a couple that will hit when the PS3 comes out. But finally Sony did something right and waited to come out with the PS3 so they can see the pros and cons of the 360. It was orginally supposed to come out this month. While both consoles will have about the same graphics, I think the 2 main differences for both of them will be the exclusive games that come out for both system, and the free online gameplay for the PS3 vs. the $50 a year of the 360. Wow I am a really big geek. Yea well I'll live another day.

REVOLUTION AND PS3 POSABLY A X BOX 360 BUT I DIDNT LIKE THE XBOX ORIG SO I PROBABLY WONT GET THIS ONE CONTROLLER TOOO BIG AND AWKWARD TO HOLD TOO MANY BUTONS NOT ENOUGH FINGERS ;) GRAPHICS ARE GOOD THOUGH THE ONLY REASON I WOULD GET ONE ;)

The graphics do kick some major ass, just wait until mid july when the start to harness the power of the 360. The controller is different for the 360, it is smaller now. Looks like a PS2 controller in a way. I can't wait for The Getaway 3 to come out. Have you guys seen the preview yet? It looks so realistic it is scary. Well ok maybe I am going overboard because I am a 3d major and I can see how hard it is get this good with such little ram and hard drive space. But still it is scary.

thats a good point what you mentioned about the HD t.v's i never thought about that, the console can only be as good as your t.v really???

Basically what Jaxon said, and well the TV is the weakest link the system. If you had a regular tv then the only real difference would be, alittle better texturing used, some smoother graphics, and alittle more roundless on the models. With HD you get a better contrast of textures, letting the textures seem more rich and in depth, like in real life. And the 360 and PS3 both run with radiosity which simulates the light bounces on objects, which is a very nice touch to the gaming experience making look 1000000% better. HD adds a little motion blur like on movies, since they run on 24 fps and a regular runs at 29.97 fps so there is the movie-like blur feel to the game which is a nice plus because are eyes don't see at 1000 fps and some things are blurry when they wiss by us. Yea I am geek I know.
