You should know that there is plenty of breaks around. You just have to look at the more interesting labels

Personally, I see another vast, all consuming change happening to Hardcore. Kind of like how it went from all the chirpy, cheesy, chipmunks on speed vocals and strung out beats to the heavier, deeper, often entirely without vocals song.

I'm seeing a trend towards more chaotic and complex songs, such as Crack Whore and 3000 Cycles, and away from simpler, Cheesey songs (not to say they don't have their charm, I love Cheese). Moreover, I see Freeform predominating every walk of Hardcore. Brisk & Ham are moving away from plain Hardcore and into Freeform, as are more and more Freeform tracks coming from Gammer, Re-Con, and many other traditionally Happy Hard DJs working with Freeformers such as Impact & Resist. Even Sy's mix on Hardcore Heaven 2 has a distinct, yet subtle, Freeform bent to it... many Freeformish synths and sounds creeping into the Hardcore tracks there. I reckon soon enough even Breeze & Styles will start to use it in their tracks.

That's my view anyway... and God I hope it turns out true. Freeform is so yummy! Hehehe

Think it will start going back to more the Old Skool sound of the early 90's as well as electro and hardstyle influences. Trancey stuff will slow down a bit for sure. Can't get much more trancey than it is. Will be f..ken tragic if does. Will kill of the scene. We need more other influences to keep har
dcore strong.

I hope all the scene-deciding stuborn djs die (hixxy, dougal, recon, sharkey, scottbrown) then I can take over the scene and DECIDE / force (bring hardcore into a comnunist thingy) and anyone who doesn't make hardcore in a 1995/6 style will have to be shot dead I'm affraid.... oh, and all chavs will die too.

I predict that at least more experimental labels will close.

Breaks will start getting more respect, and the energetic, complex sound will be injected back into hardcore.

Freeform will change as we know it (from the speed up hard dance that we heard in 2004-2005).

We will see diveristy, and lots of people trying to fight it (when was the last time you heard Hixxy play FiNRG?)

I think we'll see more ravers appreciate hardcore that is outside of the RaverBaby/Evolution spectrum of hardcore, and more talent rise up.

Of course, I long for the day when people when the top djs are the most skilled djs, not the ones will all the most exclusive tunes. One's that take risks and have no shame when experimenting with the dancefloor. I long for when people stop whinging has no vocals and can feel the pure energy rising up inside them to make them dance like mofos.

Ahh, one can dream.
