Was just wondering if the Dutch will or do still make the more uplifting type hardcore they uesd to back in the 90's. Remember the good old days of Dutch Happy Hardcore with labels like Pengo and Baby Boom. I've got nothing against nu style Gabba. Just a bit to angry and distorted for me compared to the earlier stuff. I know Germany used to make some great Happy Hardcore too. Sequential one and Interactive etc. Yep it's a real shame the Dutch make little or no Happy Hardcore. Cause they were so good at it.

As I have had said before, Paul Elstak made some of the best happy hardcore ver! Rainbow in the sky and Love U more are on the new Helter Skelter album and as usal, are worth a listen.

There is still some melodic dutch releases and get a couple with vocals but the happy element is pretty dead as in uk stuff. You never no it might come bck in at sometime just the dutch ravers tend to be more "**** happy" and prefer the beats hard and dark.
To be honest i find new cheese disappointing most the time, dunno why i just think it nearly always sounds better with old production methods. Pengo and babyboom were both immense labels and it's amazing how well the sounds lasted, whenever i play it to newer ravers they still love it. Anybody selling any releases from the above mentioned labels let me no as i'm a long way from completing my collection.

The problem in Holland with happy stuff these days is that nobody's even heard of the modern happy music. All they know is what they remember from the old days, and it's being ridiculed quite a lot. It simply doesn't seem to interest anyone anymore.
I have been producing happy hardcore for over seven years, simply because I love it, but in general it is completely non-existent over here right now. It's either commercial dance music or gabber, nothing in between. You can't even buy stuff like Bonkers or Hardcore Heaven in a regular CD shop over here. How on earth are people gonna know it if they hardly have any access to it?
I wish it would come back, but to be honest I don't see it happening. When I tell people what I do they instantly go on about The Party Animals and Technohead. That's all they seem to know (at least in my experience), and they look back at it mocking it, regarding it as kiddiecore. Sure, some of the old stuff was, but come on, there was some seriously amazing and grown up material as well. The attitude towards happy uplifting music will have to change in order for it to become popular again, and I don't think that is gonna happen.
No matter what people say or think around here, I will keep producing it as long as I love doing it. In fact, I am working on a 1996 Dutch happy hardcore inspired track right now, DJ Paul Elstak style, with female fairytale wonderland vocals and euro MC'ing. Lol. ;)

like baldo says....the newer happy hardcore just isnt interesting enough nowadays....it bores me anyway....but there is tracks out there with the old feeling chucked in.
chwhynny is heavily influenced by the old and new especially DUNE lol and you can see this in the tracks she produces so theres hope yet everyone :)
i also think cube hard has tht sound i used to love in his wrk.
i dnt know if holland will make those type traxx again but as we all know dance music circles in popularity and im sure its time in holland will come again....just maybe not as much of a hardcore frenzy as last time.

What this 'new bouncy/ happy hardcore' lacks is the old skool beats (from 95/96)
I will end up saying the same thing again soon lol

and my rebuttal once again is you need to learn your drum machines =P
there may be an odd few in the netherlands that will put out happier sounding stuff but as previously stated above I really don't see it coming back, atleast as strong as it once was. the commercialism of 'happy' hardcore in the later 90s kind of ruined it for a lot of people there.

they had their happycore glorydays but for some reason i hope they won't massivelly get into the nuskool happycore. these regions have a waaaaaaaay too mixed up hardcore culture and I fear it will cause nothing but confusion and trouble (speaking as a hardcorehead who happens to be an ex-"gabber").
