thing is i don't think you ralise just how much heat 1000BHP uses, that car has 10 radiators to keep it cool
the new model ford GT40 which is only 500BHP had to use the same ceramic tiles as spaceshuttles do in the engine bay to stop it from just incinerating the whole engine block
plus there are no commericial gearboxes that can even deal with 1000bhp, F1 cars are only 700bhp and there gear boxes are made to only last a few hours. it just isn't possible to produce a car to 1000bhp with commericial equipment and with that car with the front open for the intercooler it would the rip the chassis off it it got past 150 mph
EDIT: swansea that is with about 100 gallons of nitrous though lol

yeah the bugatti veyron is an amazing car isnt it, just incredible how the damn thing works. I mean w 16 quad turbo, thats nutz. For a good article on it check this out.
