it takes quite alot of work. and the better u get, the longer it takes lol (it seems to me)

You could start wherever you want I guess, people seem to have different ways of producing/laying out a track.

An example... you have an idea for a melody you could lay out the melody find the sound you want for it get some percussion, kicks and a bass that goes with it, lay out what you've got so far and then maybe think of a breakdown, intro and outro to go with it... That's just one way you could go about it though, you might come up with an idea for a breakdown first and then add a melody or you might just work in a completely different way to me :P.

Keep at it : ).

Cunney most sounds will be made on a synth of some sort (software or hardware).

I wont go into much detail but twidling things on one of those makes all sorts of diferent sounds ; ). You can also just use samples which I do for drums and perc 99.9% of the time.

vangaurd is rockin.
i like to use albino2 alot aswell. though its sound is generally alot cleaner.

everything else is samples pretty much (with loads of fx on em)

the basic club kick in fl, can be tranformed into almost anything with the right fx lol

I find the reverb a lil bit harsh and metallic on vanguard but it is really great for bleeps and stuff. Like to use Superwave trance pro for leads layered with a more powerful sound over the top to give it some er... power. For kicks I tend to use hard trance/style kicks or sometimes ones I've ripped from other hardcore tracks. I used to use the fruty ones but I seem to get better results with other ones.
