Just wanted to post that we have made quite a low level change to the site for country detection (contents and banners). It will make the site run faster, be more accurate, stop the javascript detection at the start of the first page load and generally smoother.
I also fixed a bug that wasn't outputting the HTML meta encoding in Japanese so that should fix a few things there as well.
It's hard to run testing on this change because it's country specific and I don't have a PC in all countries so let me know if there are any problems.

i know this has nothing to do with what your on about but i cannot get on chat........it hasnt wrked since i can remember....as soon as i type my preffered name my browser dissapears from my computer screen totally.......i have to load firefox up again.
mite be summat on my pc i just dnt know tbh

lol same kinda except i got a virus n had 2 redo the whole computer from scratch n for some reason i cant get on chat 2 i dunno probly has 2 do wif my pc lol

At least Finnish country detection works now with Opera 8 too. Noticed earlier today how it suddenly switched the language :D
Japanese text works now too, at least with my work computer, meaning i cant nuke the J-news anymore ;)
