Amazing. When i first signed up here, I wanted to know where ALL the great Hardcore cd's were (the mixed ones). Then little by little (because my car took most of my money) i wanted to save for some DJ gear. Now i dont buy any mixed cd's and ive been COMPLETLY enveloped in mixing/trying to produce.

I wouldve laughed at myself at the notion that i would spend nearly $2,700 in dj gear. But once i actually took some time and made a table for myself, i can see that i wouldve been BUTTRAPED if it wasnt for Ebay. I saved about a thousand dollars alone on trying to find the best bargain.

I can relate this music love to car love pretty well. A guy who likes cars soo much will lower his car, give it some nice coilovers/shock/spring set-up, a cold air intake, a good sounding exhaust, and a WHOLE lot of other crap just because thats what he loves.

That $2,700 doesnt even include the cd's i have of legally downloaded material.

You club djs and accomplished producers are probably laughing at the mere expenses ive put. but its alot to me. in such a short time.

thoughts??

I dred to think about the sheer amount of money I've spent over the years on music & music equipment. I don't think I could even put an amount out there without working the calculator really hard.

Mortis, thats what i did. had some time at work. Pulled out the calculator and added it up. kinda shocked me.
Dj Jaxon...DAMN!

As long as its worth it in the end. This isnt a complaint thread...just crazy how quick your money can go away once you set your mind on a certain hobbie/lifestyle.

im afraid to add my cds. lets see at least 13 cds from the likes of evolution, imo, and nuenergy. each having at least 10 songs. bah im still afraid.

When you go DnB shopping (i guess hardcore applies too) do you get only two songs a and b side. or can there be 2-3 songs on any given side?

I Would Not Have A Clue As To How Much I Have Spent On Music Equipment Over The Last 3 Years, But I'm Sure If I Saved It All I'd Be Rich

varies. some are one sided, most have 1 release per side, and others have multiple tunes on 1 record.

At one point I had about 5000 records in total. Figure on average about $10 per record and that's a down payment on a house.

reading over this thread...there are two words that i love to see here.

invested as in, its an investment to buy vinyl/cd's not just a purchase.
almost ashamed as in, I ALMOST feel bad...but i dont :D

someone said they'd relate having the money they spent to being really rich otherwise, i wouldnt say 'rich' but im sure i might have nicer designer clothing. but who cares about looking really, really, really, really, nice. :D
