Why does'nt the online Music store move over to lossless music formasts like *.*SHN files instead of Mp3's.

Or better still have wav files, for stroring RAW music data, uncompressed.

Then if we make T3 internet conncetions cheap and affordable for everyone, you'd then be able to dowload 90,000 kb files with ease, and there would be no loss of quality.

True, Cheapskates with 14kbps internet connections would suffer, but lets face it thos people are taking the mick anyway, do they really expect to be able to have a good online music store experience with 14k!!

Its not fair right now that people with 2000kbps connections have to suffer with overcompressed music, just because some poeple have Crappy connections, those people need join the 21st century.

It would be like having the CD.

Hahahaha... Can I download my vinyl that way too then?

I'll take vinyl over downloadable CD's anyway, thank you...
And I buy the real stuff, instead of downloads or copies...
It's more fun and it supports my fav. DJ's as well...

But that's my opinion

192Kb MP3 is lossy but only in frequencies the human ear cannot decipher. So, if you can hear the difference between that and a wav, you are in fact a dog.

Um sounds good in theory but...

A. You can't just make faster connections cheap and affordable for everyone because they cost money to set up and maintain, who's going to pay?

B. Store owners would need to pay for massive amounts of extra space to store these full size wav's on their sites.

In the end it all boils down to money. Maybe if people who had faster connections and wanted full quality were willing to pay more for the option to do so it could work.

^^
exactly, wav is a great format but usually higher format = higher web space consumption = increased web space bill

I'm sure some sites would gladly oblige if you'll carry the bill =P

Also you've got to take into consideration piracy laws and the outcome of heavily increased illegal sharing and its impact upon the already dwindling state of cd sales.....but then again i do use P2P alot so i cant really talk :P

Is that what T3 is then?

Does anyone here know how many kbps T3 is.

Sory for the short and snappy post but i had an accident on my push-bike with some basterd taxi driver on the IDR in reading.

He tryed to block me off, just as i was comming up behind him, like the road-hogging swine that taxi drivers are.

He swerved towards me, and i had to swerve to avoid him, went over the handle bars, rolled, smashed my arm, and broke it.

Didnt get out of A&E until 2am.

I'm sory taxi drivers should'nt be allowed the luxury of an attitude problem.

Isnt that only used in US and Japan? and E1 was used in europe...

Anyway here the biggest connection available is ADSL2+ (@ 24Mbps down speed), would assume the fastest in UK is the same.

Sorry to hear about your arm mate, hope it heals quickly.

Did the taxi driver take the blame, did you get any wittnesses or did he away with it?

....and no, their not allowed to have an attitude problem. I don't give them that latitude.... b**stards.

its difficult to assign blame really.......

I could have been in the guys blind spot, but you'd notice someone comming up from behind though would'nt you.

This is a sat view of the road i was cycling down curtasy of the upgraded google maps, its the road going horizontal, with the two lines of trees.
I'd just come back from Bar 32:

http://maps.google.co.uk/?ll=51.457821,-0.970053&spn=0.001678,0.003567&t=k

I'd just past the two painted roundabouts at about 10:55pm on the 3rd of march.

Then this Taxi swerves from the centre of the road into my space (cycle space), in front of me.

Then when i try and squeeze past the now small gap between him and the curb, he closes into me.

I have to swerve, i hit the curb, roll forward, and miss the fence by about 1 foot.

If anyone saw anything tell me........i am finding it difficult to type.
