yes, you are right in that they dont compare.
however, what i meant was,
for ME listen to cd's at home is more enjoyable than a rave. just cos i dont like raves. there not going to be everyones thing.

I'm with you on this one Smoogie, i prefer raving in my room to going out raving. In your room you can listen to whatever you want and go as mad as you want. I don't agree with many things at raves, drugs being one of them. I have expressed these feeling before and because i don't drink, when i see others at hardcore raves, they don't half look like pricks and sometimes i think, what am i doing with these strange people? (chavs mostly, cannot stand them, slowly ruining the scene) Yeah i will probably get slated for saying this, but i enjoy backing up others and giving my honest opinion. Most people call hardcore raves, but now i have been to a few i can see why really. One major thing also which i could do without is the MC's, i used to hate it with i passion, now i just dislike it.

Oy and me!
BTW : biggest hardcore event of the year - Hardcore Heaven Weekender - amazingly not that many chavs - thousands of people loving the music, soaking up the atmosphere and best of all just randomly making friends :-)

This is why I like cartoony shit for CD covers.
This is why I like most people thinking that Hardcore is 'chipmunk' voices on speed for vocals.
This is why I like people thinking that a rave is full of mental druggies.
Why?
....'cos it keeps the normals, the chavs and most of other wankers away and keeps it Underground.
It's like anything else.
Once the 'public' get's to know about it, the atmosphere is destroyed, it goes downhill, the wonderful 'public' then find something new and it dies
imo, at the moment the 'public' know about it and I don't blame anyone for not wanting to go to a rave.
Baldo and Bulby have made the point recently that there are smaller events, with the right crowd, that are blindin'.
It's just trying to find the right events. That's the problem.
it a shame that it will end up like that, but you cant have it both ways, either you want hardcore do well and be recognised more with the cost of the atmosphere or you want it become more underground ^^^^ to keep that atmosphere that makes raves ***** great.
i enjoy being in the minority and want it stay that way

Aye it's good to get out and support the up n comings in your area, they appreciate it especially with nights just starting or struggling to get by.
Loadsa new events have came up over the last year and some are top class, i'm enjoying it anyway so im not bothered about things becoming too commercial or whatever.
HTID and uproar always have quality lineups of different stuff, cant say they just stick to the same old.
Raindance is still my fav event, not even cos of the music (which is top) but its just a good rave with good atmosphere.
@Kat was it not only about 2,000 at the weekender? thats what i was told but might be wrong. did look like a laugh about chalets but i still think i'd rather go to one of the big ones in holland instead

I was told it was more like 4000 and anyways I still think it was the biggest event of this year so far in the UK. It may pale into significance next to the Netherlands raves but I don't think chavs are a problem there anyway are they?
