And the award for 'Most pointless new topics made by a new member in a single day goes to'.........

*Drum roll*

Seriously though -

The scene in te Uk is still where it's at but Hardcore is becoming much more of a worldwide thing again.

Who'd have thought that Finland would be producing some of the best Freeform tunes ever?

That the U.S & Canada are providing some of the best and most varied tunes i've heard in a long time.

That DJ's from Lytham St. Annes can make excellent......er......coffee! :P

Hardcore is at a good place at the minute, just needs to hang on!

hahahaha yeah... Aussie happy hardcore... fairly UK sounding (Weaver/Suae) but we have some pretty decent hardstyle (Amber Savage, Matrix...)... Guess we're about 6 months behind on the hardcore scene, but we have a bloody loyal group of ravers which makes up for it!!

I'm from holland...

The place where it all begun
And okee, maybe not for Happy hardcore, but for regular hardcore, like dutch style, italian and german...

I've always been gabber, but didn't like the music at first. It kind of grew on my when my best friend took me to a local during the day rave...
It was sweet, and I was hooked!

We've (here on the site) discussed influences between happy hardcore UK and Dutch HHC We agreed we influenced eachother, since Brittish breakbeats are part of our early rave and D&B scene...

i disagree with that in so many ways tbh dms mate, and i think thoushands of others in europe would think the same.

The amount of releases, availability in shops, size of events, quality of events etc is all much better in holland and from what i've heard is the same in germany and italy.

In amsterdam in loadsa mainstream shops you can buy gabber cds and vinyl, try finding that much in hmv it wont happen cos theres not the demand.

25-40,000 people is common in fully hardcore raves, britains biggest is things like uproar and slammin and having been to them all there tiny compared to whats happeneing over there. Also soundsystems over there are crystal clear and stageshows are far more than an mc and a couple of dancers.

For "happy" hardcore the uk's where it's at with spain, australia and places like that also liking it. But hardcore's biggest in europe and until i get prooved otherwise i think anyone who thinks britains where its at is just wishful thinking.

Aren't the size of the crowds at raves bigger because the country (population) is bigger and not because a larger percentage of the population listen to hardcore? Obviously gabber is bigger in Holland and other Euro countries I aint disagreeing with that ;).

16,407,491 = population of holland
60,441,457 = population of the uk

about 50 million of that is in england so we're talking about a quarter of the population yet 4 times as many people going to raves.

its mainly about xtc bulby mate, over there its everywhere and is still pure mdma. the rave experience in loads of ways is so much better meaning more word of mouth meaning more people go to raves.

just because it isnt happy doesnt mean it isnt hardcore. I'd say its a lot more hardcore than the sped up club music they play at slammin etc.

As i said its a brittish thing people over here like to think we're ahead, even when all facts state otherwise people would rather have wishful thinking than face facts.

I know it's one of the many types of hardcore mate ;). I said Gabber just so people knew I ment Gabber.

Bugger me i thought Hollands population would be much bigger than ours! Too many people on this damn Island.

aye fair play mate course you no, not like you dont check out all sortsa parties yourself.

Is just something with a lot of people into raving over here, dunno where they get it from that nowhere else is as big or good.

I've been to holland raving a couple times now and if anyone has they'd no that its far bigger there, you dont need statistics its in front of your eyes.

F*ck me i remember people in glasgow saying how nowhere else was as into hardcore as them, theres hardly any raves ffs its obviously not the case.

Nothin wrong with being proud of what we've got, just no need to ignore what other people have aswell
