lab 4 use alberton pro live at events. technology is here to make our life easier but i'd say it has cheapened everything, how can you compare deck skills to uploading a 2 files and pressing a button so a PC beatmatches you for them personally. it takes all the individuality out of mixes and DJ's no longer have their own style as it is all just the same.

Indeed, with computer mixing there is no room for expression. You can't beat the human touch when it comes to things such as music, art, and literature. Sure a computer can mix flawlessly for ever, but it lacks a soul. And a soul is what gives music "une petite douceur" in my opinion.

turntables cant take elements from 6 tracks at once and mash them up, watch a nu energy live pa they use all kindsa hardware and everything it's a brilliant show.

Ever tried it? You have all your tracks a your finger tips and you don't have to worry about keeping the decks pitched. That leaves MORE room for expression in the way of loops, cuts, samples, effects and various other things you could be doing to express yourself instead of beat matching.

False. A computer can't mix for shit. It can only time warp tracks. The person operating the computer has to make sure the track is mapped out properly and that the track is "dropped" at the right time.
Everyone knows you can just slam 2 tracks together and call it a mix.
There is a right time and a wrong time to drop a new song. We'll call this a form of expression since it's different for everyone.
It's funny how people are so opposed to this not because "its not their cup of tea" but because of all the misconceptions they have about mixing with a laptop.
Yes, boys and girls, you can headphone cue as well and make sure you like the mix or the track you want to bring up next.

very well said.
I myself love laptop-dj's (if they're proficient in it's use).
k, given, vinyl might look cooler and feel more familiar to most but if you check what you can and can't do with a laptop... it's amasing... plus you can get a waaaaaay better soundquality from digital files than from vinyl
