Hi people
Im new here. So here are a few questions...
1. Are then any "old skool" lovers in here 1990 - 1996?
2. What do you think of the older style?
3. How would you fell if someone mixed old and new

Hi mate, welcome to the site!
1) I don't love oldskool but I do like it.
2) I prefer the new stuff to be honest but there are some classics from back in the day that will never be beaten!
3) I think it'd be a nice variation, could work... give it a try! I'm keen to hear!

^^ ^^ thats pretty much just cheesy anthems though jenks mate, if its that kinda oldschool your playing i'm not really interested cos have heard it all before too many times.
cos i missed it first time around love hearing the forgotten classics and less obvious tracks, so many releases i've not had pleasure of hearing and is a shame so many old school sets just end up happy hardcore anthems

Just going on decks just now jenks mate but if your on msn later i'll send you some sets of different styles.
i love old cheese just get sick of the same tunes getting played all the time, still good for nostalgia cos was that time i got into hardcore.
before 96 though was some wkd stuff, english breakbeat style plus the scottish/dutch sound from about 93-97 and old belgian before that.
is a mission trying to learn more about it but its really rewarding, they dont make em like they used to

Welcome to the site *shakes hand* I'm Smoogie and I think the best Hardcore came from 1996. I have been into Hardcore for over two years now but worship the older stuff. There is good newer stuff but I have only really taken to freeform. the meainstream is too weak for me but I wih I was into Hardcore back in the mid 1990s as those were good times. I have heard there were very good raves and the tunes out then were fantasic IMO.

What I will do is as soon as I get a PC (hopefully soon) I will record my stunning sets (and oh yes I am the master!) and I'll post 'em on here.
Imagine Ratty's mixing style (chopping) and brisk's (long beat matching) and you will have my style...lovely jubbly!!!!!
Since I ain't got a clue what the scene is like now (something called Nu-Skool?) can anyone help with decent tunes as I want to mix the new and old!!!!!!!!

nu-skool is old school style production made today...mainly all breakbeat (good stuff) 92-93 sounding. the stuff you listed I wouldn't consider in the same category.
second, how do I fell if someone mixed old and new? feel? =P
a good chunk of maximum impact, new evos, kfa and some dnb are rehashing older style production and mix well w/ older records
third. you have two #6's the first one listed, the gytoftb mix is better than bass reaction's (mr. browns) original. second one is by bass x...and I'm still undecided as to which one is better =P
