or as another name that's come up alot; 'nu-oldskool'
i remember hearing back that hixxy would do more hardcorebreaks sets at HTIDs, well, i haven't seen one. is it because there is a lack of major hardcorebreaks lables? i think that's a lazy thing to say when you go on sites like backtotheoldskool forum... lots of talent and bringing out a new style (well I say 'new') that is possibly gonna be the next big thing.
plus wasn't nextgeneration recs gonna bring out a sub label called... damn i forget the name, it's to do with bouncing back, the word.
please discuss. I think the upfront sound at the moment is stale and is on thin ice.

Yeah I remember reading an interview with Brisk where he talked about doing a "sister" breakbeat label... I'm sure he was talking about the faster breakbeat hardcore rarher than hardcore breaks though.
There is a few new hardcore breaks labels popping up at the mo but not loads as of yet TBH.

Yeah easiest way to explain it without going into any technicalities is to say, Oldskool, Jungle and DnB use breakbeats. As well as new hardcore tracks like the cube::hard mix of timebomb, stingray and loads of other lesser known (to the mainstream) ones.

I wouldn't say there is a lack of labels. Thin N' Crispy for sure has a breakbeat hardcore sister label called Supabreaks.
Then, there is all of the different labels with http://www.all-4-1.co.uk And don't forget BBHC (the label). Electronica Exposed or Electronic or whatever that label is called (the one from Tazz & Shanty) has some breakbeat hardcore. RFU releases some breakbeat hardcore tracks as well. I'm not sure if there is a lack of labels as much as they aren't receiving as much coverage. I can't think of any more atm, but I'm sure I'm missing some...

I reckon we're about 33% breaks *Shrugs* ;)
What should have everyone truly astonished is that the Scottbrown b2b Gammer CD on Bonkers 16 starts w/ a Breaks track. I iz flabbergasted, even, Fair play, bways. :D

Superbreaks has had one release months ago when all-4-1 started and nothing since. Luna-c said Rob long was wait ng to see what happened with reguard to vinyl sales. Dont know if anything is happening at the moment.
Hardcore breaks firstly has a silly name. It seems as though they dont want to be tainted with the hardcore brush but want you to know its still hardcoreish.
They try to capture the original rave sound that so many people enjoyed before getting turned off by all the happy stuff.
Some off it is too slow imo and would sound better faster (more than +10). Imo it really needs to be a good track to be played rather than playing something from the original era.
Its a growing scene with more labels starting all the time.

I was talking about hardcore breaks not breakbeat hardcore. I meant to play it over a track from the 88-94 period a hardcore breaks track would need to be really good

For a while it looked like Breakbeat Hardcore was going to be a massive hit with most people, but it seems like the releases have faded off a little. It's still there you just have to go digging for it.

No there not the same thing at all. Listen to some Hardcore breaks then listen to some breakbeat hardcore from the all-4-1 lot or rfu, next gen etc.
Hardcore breaks up to 160bpm influeneced (spl?) by the early sound of hardcore. (old skool)
Breakbeat hardcore is hardcore that uses breaks aswell as or instead of 4/4 kick.
