did I get pawned or something? =P

Anyways. When did the Brittish scene start getting called only "hardcore"? that is what I was refering too. I know very well that Breakbeat and UKHardcore have the same roots so dont go slagging me because I barely like oldskool or because I'm from Sweden (or that I never was into hardcore before 2002)

To be honest, when I think of breaks nowadays it's artists like The Crystal Method, Meat Katie, Hyper, Elite Force, Dylan Rhymes etc that come to mind. That's around 130 BPM. So, is hardcore breaks a faster version of that? Whatever it is, it is under the golden 165 BPM rule.

Just think of Oldskool Hardcore, that's what it is ;)

Listen to the samples here:

http://www.choicerecords.co.uk/tech/thecart.asp?go=A&ac=ls&SID=9&pge=1&psz=50&src=db&artist=&title=" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"> http://www.choicerecords.co.uk/tech/thecart.asp?go=A&ac=ls&SID=9&pge=1&psz=50&src=db&artist=&title=

The slower ones are all Hardcore Breaks. It doesn't sound anything like nor does it have anything to do with the genre "breaks". Back when "oldskool" was new it was called hardcore (as I'm sure everyone knows), it gradually sped up over time but this shouldn't mean that anything produced using the original sound and speed is not hardcore... That makes no sense :s

I reckon that if you asked the people that were producing exactly this kind of stuff back in the early '90s they'd call it

Hardcore.
