*Chuckles* Yeh, what I meant was that Raverbaby think that they own Hardcore but at the end of the day, with so many people getting into the old classics, it is without a doubt that Hardcore will return to it's old skool/Happycore roots when people get addicted to the old sounds.

The point I was trying to make was why should good producers get turned away from big labels just coz there stuff is a little '90s sounding' If that is what the Ravers want (A lot do) then a lot of money could be made from it.

Good producers won't get turned away if their tunes are good enough/relevant to the label.

And the old sounds are just that - OLD!

Why go back when so many people are desperate for Hardcore to move forward?

How do you mean they think they own hardcore? lol... they are the most popular label at the moment, thats all... that alone contradicts your post completely... do you go raving out of interest? as you have said that people
will regress into the older sound eventually when everyone gets addicted...

I see no evidence of this happening, The sound of hardcore will continue to
progress into something new but I can never see it being produced like it was
back in the day... to be honest, the old sound is exactly what killed it anyways.

Funny I hardly ever see fights when i've been to raves, actually I don't think I have. It seems to me that chav's that go to raves are sound anyway, they all seem friendly and smoogie hardcore will not go back to the old sounds, it died once I doubt they want it dieing again. Don't get me wrong I love it more than the new sounds but it just isn't going to happen. Leave it be :)

HARDCORE NEVER DIED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

also everyone on here seems to bitch about raverbaby, whats the deal with that? there doing there thing getting hardcore heard by thousands of people it may not be your prefered style but thats the way it goes

each to their own!!!!!!

i personally don't like much of the new hardcore and very rarely listen to any of it but there is a few good tracks on raverbaby

my music of choice is hardstyle, but that doesn't mean i don't like jump style, trance, house or hardcore

all you that bitch about raverbaby need to broaden your musically taste

Hixxy's doing a great job and i for one hope he keeps up the good work

HARDCORE TILL I DIE

It didn't exactly die but it took a huge blow... The amount of people producing, DJ'ing, attending raves and listening all dropped dramatically.

I wouldn't say everyone here slags off Raver Baby.

I know not everyone but the majority

I just think that if raverbaby's so popular although you personally don't like it is bringing new listens to hardcore what imo can only be good for the scene therefore respect should be going out to hixxy and all the raverbaby crew

Im not saying hes slating raverbaby, just possibly giving it too much credit
(or too little). One label will not devise the start and end of hardcore, as long
as there are people out there who still enjoy the sounds, there will be
hardcore.

In 98 - 2000, hardcore went tits up... but how long was the last stand?
lets say hardcore started its peak in 94? ... lasted until 98? thats 4 years.

The new wave has already lasted longer than that, if we say it started in 2000 and now its 2006... were beating it by about 1.5 years, and we havent yet started
a major slump... im pretty sure this new accessable sound we have
for hardcore is serving us right at the moment!

To be honest, I have no real feelings on this subject as im pretty cool with the
way things are heading, im just adding my 5p's worth for you to educate you
further into the music you love.. I would suggest heading to a rave though as
the internet couldnt really be a more distorted view of what is actually
happening across dancefloors in the UK (and beyond).

Before thinking about getting signed to the bigger labels, maybe you should
start havign a think about being a raver and realising once and for all what all
the fuss is about...

This is just my oppinion now, but I would say that to produce truley good
tunes, you need to have done your time as a raver so that you can at least
have a good idea about what makes a raver rave! - its not all about pianos
and vocals ya know

If your referring to my comment it wasn't directed at you :) I completely agree with what you've said, at history of hardcore on Saturday you could see the difference on the dance floor when the older stuff was being played. Personally I love the old stuff but it's been done and things have moved on.
