yeh tht sounds like roacutaine, rele hardcore stuff. Like I said I wouldnt recommend that stuff 1st, its a last resort as it has such bad side effects. Just see a dermatologist and see what he says.

its acutaine, and it works really well! side affects would be if used MORE than 6 months you can have liver damage..
I had VERY bad acne however and I got it treated well, within 3 weeks it cleared up, and I used it for 6 months. Havent had a break out since (4 years ago)

Nothing works. It's a childhood thing that you will grow out of. The only thing that makes your acne worse is your persistence in believing it makes you ugly.

hah, touch wood, never really get spots! lucky girl, all my mates at school were all dead jealous!! only really get them after drinking loadsa alcohol, but I eat relatively healthy so I'm cool. Thing I have noticed is that shit like clearasil actually brings up spots, because it like brings all the shit in your pores to the surface, irratates and goes pusy!

Im a soap and warm water girl through and through!

lol seriously just get a terrycloth wash-cloth and wash your face with water(not even soap as it creates build-up)

Let me just advise you not to pick. I have many acne scars from picking my spots, and it's not a nice thing. Oh, and that acutaine, i've actually heard it causes many scars so only use acutaine if you are severly depressed with your acne.

Seriously, I think if you maintain a healthy diet, drink lots of water and thoroughly clean your face with warm water and soap daily would do the trick.

**oh and try avoid touching your face throughout the day...**

Like Emz, I have pretty good skin *knocks on wood* and thank god, I don't have to wear cover-up, foundation and all that stuff that my friends have to pack on everyday.

Yup, Squishster and Yaddam have got it spot on! Diet has a huge influence on spots and acne! I'm 26 and if I eat too much chocolate or sweets then *pling!* out comes a zit! Was worse when I was a teenager, although I never suffered from terrible acne, just the odd zit here and there!

Stay away from too much sugary foods and drinks, especially fizzy drinks and artificial colourings/flavourings! Try and get your five fruit/veg in a day (not that hard - I have a glass of juice, a banana and an organic yoghurt for breakfast and thats 3 done already!)

I also sometimes use a face wash with grit in it (face scrub its usually called). Theres various ones about. I currently use the nivea for men one, but when I was younger and had bad blackheads on my chin I used one with apricot "bits" in and that really helped. The "grit" helps clear out your pores. Blocked pores is the main cause of acne. Wash with that twice a day (or once, and once with normal soap) will do wonders over time. Try and use natural soap, none of this full of chemicals crap - they can sometimes do more harm than good! Use hot water when you wash, and rinse well in it before you wash. This opens up your pores, allowing them to be cleaned more thoroughly. lather up and then make sure you rinse thoroughly getting all the soap off (again in hot water). Use moisturiser after.

A tip for the lads too - when you shave use a GOOD moisturiser! Its not girly, it just helps the razor burn, which can often turn into acne looking skin. Take it from someone suffering at the moment due to mild razor burn exasebated (sp) by brand new shirts rubbing in a hot muggy Britain!
