As many of you probably know already, today is the one year anniversary of the day that London was attacked by suicide bombers to which so many lost their lives or loved ones.

Its hard to believe that a year has gone by already since that awful day.

I mention this less to bring up the past or make a huge discussion out of the events more as to show a small act of rememberance on my behalf of a fantastic girl i barely even knew that lost her life, and to all those others that were tragically killed.

God Bless those innocent victims and their families. May they be in a happier place, and may we one day no longer live with the ongoing threat of terrorism.

I'm in New York and it has only just got the good feel back in the last year or so from 9/11. I'm glad Britian was strong last year and moved forwards. I also feel for those who lost their lives last year. I remember that day at college, it was all over the news and England just found out that we were hosting the 2012 olimpics so someone thought that's way they bombed us, yet, like most other counrties, the UK has remained strong and we WILL win the war on terroism!!!!

not to sound like a complete wanker but you can't really compare America to us in this case. We've had terrorist attacks planned and carried out on us for hundreds of years from countries/regimes that wanted their sovereignty, hell it doesn't seem like a year has ended without one. It seems to have become a part of life for England seeing not so much as a tragedy but as an annoyance and witin a couple of days all is back to normal whereas America takes years to settle down and start the clean up. You never saw Blair standing on top of the bus that was blown up for a huge press conference and photo op.

Well put mkr, done the two minute silence yesterday and had a think about it.

Was weird on tubes yesterday aswell, not panicking just everyone thinkin about it cos it was all over the papers.

But aye is a bad thing to happen, but all over the world crazy shit goes on every day.

Terrorisms only one problem at the end of the day, but as you said this aint the place for discussing it.

Innocent people dyings never right, but londoners have been through much worse before so f*ck them a few deaths will never grind a city to a halt.

I love livin round here, am just outside the city but it's a big part of life for work, enjoyin myself and everything else.

R.I.P all the victims

Not a wanker at all, agree with that.

Brittish people have gone from world wars tearin us apart, to IRA attacks and allsorts.

So after growing up with stories of the blitz not many people are gonna let 70 deaths or whatever it was in a city of 7 million defeat them.

U.S.A acted totally differently, it was a bigger attack and they werent used to it the same way so cant really compare.

I like the way we acted over here, was on the tubes the next day and so were loadsa other people. Could hear nearly every different language under the sun on the tubes, some people hate it but is part of what makes london what it is.

I think it's a good place, it's obv got a bad side as every city does but i like livin down this way. Always somethin goin on and a wkd music scene for everything.

that's what i meant by our reactions, next day the tube was up and running and everything was more or less next to normal and work had already bagan mending the damage. on 9/11 in America more-or-less everything grind to a halt for years, huge conferences everywhere, photo ops etc. took them 2+ years to start rebuilding the thing. kinda semed lke a deer caught in car headlights, never expected it whereas we've had it so often we've kinda become desensitised to it almost. not so much looked on as a tragedy but a ****ing nuisance.

Yup, did company wide here

Defiance to these acts of violence is something that the UK has always had - Its always a shock when it happens, but they do happen, and the UK has always had the attitude "Never let the bastards grind you down" and so far they haven't, and I can't see it ever happening.

As always, my prayers are with the families and friends of those who died and to all those who were affected by the attack last year.

It's the stiff upper lip mentality that the Brits have always had - Most likely it stems from us being involved in many conflicts going back hundreds if not thousands of years.

a less than 600 years we have been in like 75+ wars which is a good number of wars if you consider one of them was the hundred years war!!

(that is me stealing from Bill Bailey's stand up)
