Few questions for you guys. If you can take the time to answer it would be appreciated. :) <3

1. How was you introduced to hardcore?

2. What genres did you listen to before hardcore?

3. Have you always preferred electronic music?

4. Do you think your love for hardcore will ever die?

5. Your favourite sub-genre of hardcore and favourite tune.

I could ask so many more questions, but these are the main ones. My answers are as follows.

1)
I was introuced to hardcore a couple of years back when a friend of mine bought Bonkers 13 just before Christmas, that same night was the first time I ever took MDMA. I was not very aware of hardcore at that time, but I had been a fan of Trance and various other forms of electronic music since I was a young child.

2)
I can find something is just about any genre I like, but by far prefer all forms of Trance and Hardcore.

3)
Definately, I find it is like a drug. It stiumlates me and makes me feel happier and less stressed.

4)
Nope, not at all. Even if I was 90 the memories the music would bring would be immense.

5)
Why there is not a sub-genre of hardcore I do not like, I think ill choose UK Hardcore though. My fave song is from that Vibalite set of Joey Riots and the tune is called:

Lethal Theory feat Vicky Fee - Bring Me Back (DJ Kurt Mix)

1. How was you introduced to hardcore?

My brother used to play it back when I was a nip and I got into it through him, that was about 9-10 years ago now.

2. What genres did you listen to before hardcore?

Punk, Hip Hop, Reggae, Ska, Metal... pretty much everything as my dad owns a record shop so I got to hear lots of different stuff.

3. Have you always preferred electronic music?

No

4. Do you think your love for hardcore will ever die?

No

5. Your favourite sub-genre of hardcore and favourite tune.

I don't like to pin myself to "favourites", I could never choose.

1. How was you introduced to hardcore?

I've been into dance music since the 80's - followed it's progression through House, Acid, Techno, Rave etc...and when Old skool Hardcore branched off into Jungle/DnB & Fourbeat Hardcore i chose to take the Hardcore route

2. What genres did you listen to before hardcore?

Everything!

Grew up listening to my parents 60's & 70's music before i started buying stuff myself about 25 years ago. My early collection is both varied and embarrassing!

3. Have you always preferred electronic music?

Overall yes, but most of my early record collection (and a lot of my current favourites) are 'proper' music ;)

4. Do you think your love for hardcore will ever die?

Quite possibly. I know there will come a time when i no longer listen to Hardcore but the memories i have of almost 20 years of being a raver will stay with me forever

5. Your favourite sub-genre of hardcore and favourite tune.

Impossible to say - i could fill a page with a list of tunes that are special to me for different reasons. As for a favourite genre - times (and tastes) change so i reckon i'll only be able to give a proper answer to that if Hardcore ever ceases to exist.

1. How was you introduced to hardcore?

Through art class in school. The one and only Stu "oh yes indeedy" Allan on key 103.

2. What genres did you listen to before hardcore?

Iron Maiden, Metallica, Nirvana plus a few others.

3. Have you always preferred electronic music?

See above.

4. Do you think your love for hardcore will ever die?

I doubt it will die, hardcore music is my music. I've met alot of great people because of this music and this site. For that I am eternally greatfull.

5. Your favourite sub-genre of hardcore and favourite tune.

I like all sub genre's to be honest, I like a bit of everything. I don't stick to one style all the time, and my mix's tend to take a bit of alot of different styles. I like to vary things, too much of one thing can get a bit boring.

As for my favourite tune....probably still Triple J - Have it all. Although I love alot of other tracks, I'm constantly searching for better tracks, so that may change down the line.

Thank you all for your responses, more than I expected. I am a very curious person and it intrigued me to find out how other people came to love the very same thing I do.

1. How was you introduced to hardcore?

By accident. I borrowed a "pop" compilation album from a mate MANY moons ago and there was an oldskool tune on there (forget which one though!) which I thought was amazing and went out to find more!

2. What genres did you listen to before hardcore?

Anything and everything.

3. Have you always preferred electronic music?

No.

4. Do you think your love for hardcore will ever die?

Maybe one day when I'm a wrinkly coffin-dodger but I'll always look back with fond memories

5. Your favourite sub-genre of hardcore and favourite tune.

My favourite sub-genre seems to change each day! I like ALL styles of hardcore - one day it's gabba, the next breakbeat, then freeform, then happy and so on. Depends on how I'm feeling.

Favourite tune: CLSM - Roof on fire.
