Ok, Sy mixes alone, but does Unknown actually hold his own sets? How come Unknown doesnt do cd mixes by himself? But together, they make some awosme tracks and remixes :)

Unknown is more a producer than a DJ but he does play the occasional set on his own (although you're MUCH more likely to see him play with Sy).
A bit like Ham really - talented but never got that much recognition as a DJ in his own right.

Unknown mixed The Fusion album (A Point To Be Made) back in 97. Pulled off 2 cracking mixes.
But Unknown has had plenty of solo bookings. He's just as talanted as Sy on the decks. Mixing anyway.......

Discogs has a bit of useful info on DJ Unknown who is also known as The Unkown Project. http://www.discogs.com/artist/DJ+Unknown His real name is Chris Sargent and his best work IMO is Critical Heights (1997) which is on The Ultimate Hardocre album and has a remix by Hixxy on Bonkers 2 (1997) and Hixxy's Old Skool killa kuts (Bonkers 13, 2004)

quosh is the parent label of triffik tunes
unknown has come over to the states a couple times but he usually played along sy. as previously mentioned unknown is/was the better producer of the two (after ripped2f*ck I don't know though ) and sy was the better dj as far as scratching.

2 - 3 weeks ago sy & unknown played @ air birmingham for polysexual nite. SY had a 2 hour un MC'ed mix which was amazing best set ever & Unknown had his own 1 hour half set also a very good set with a great selection of tunez and fab mixing.
I read a interview from Sy i think it was on trackitdown.com saying they both met when sy was shagging unknown's mum & he walked in them getting it on. Unknown new he was a producer & showed some of his stuff to sy & whala the mighty duo.

I met Unknown once. I was playing at "The Pleasure Rooms" in Tottenham, (er Labyrinth I think). Anyway I was finishing my set and this bloke told me that he was on next. I was off my nut (I had been boozing all evening) and hadn't finished playing whatever I was wanting to play and I came accross all wrong - really off and a bit aggressive too . I finally asked him "who are you anyway?" Then he told me, "I am DJ Unknown". I felt like a right plonker.
Even thinking about it now makes me cringe
