Check out soem of the Decadance CDs. Usually up to 6 Cds mixed and un mixed.
The Ultimate Hardcore Album- 6 mixes (3 mixed by Sy and Unknow, 3 un mixed)-
Hardcore- 6 mixes (3 mixed by Sy and Unknow, 3 un mixed)
The Ultimate Happy Hardcore album
There is also an Ultimate Hard house album which is 6 unmixed CDs and has a few Hardcore names on there with their House/Trance stuff like Styles and Breeze, Slipmat and Sy and Unknown (This time named, Chris and Sy)
Also the happy 2 B Hardcore seris which started in January 1997 shopuld be worth a try, the first one is my favorite with 16 tracks of classics and Hard beats!

i'm not familiar with the WOW series, or the 'old skool' but as a new convert to hardcore i've been trying to get feedback from the forum on cheesey hardcore. is it welcome? are the more established producers going this way? i always get the feeling it's frowned upon in general. i got loads of hits on the post but no replies?

I prefer tape packs so I can hear new stuff/unreleased stuff that I can't hear here.
I suppose if you want cds I'd go with f*ckin hardcore, thunderdome, terrordome, united dance, wow, and all of mr luna-c's supasets (not cds =P)

Nothing wrong with a bit of cheese. But if i found the whole hardcore scene was going to end up as just cheesy trance rips with sickly vocals i'd throw myself in front of a train!
And i agree with Brian - buy some tape packs. You get loads of fresh tunes that way.
I only buy CD compilations so i have something to keep me going until i can get the tunes i want on vinyl - after that i either give them away or stick them o Ebay!
