Well, I never listened to techno ever until a few months ago when a friend had to drag me alog to a rave. Now I can't find enough music to listen to. I have about 20 gigs of music on my iPod but I want more.
I was wondering if you could tell me which albums in the store here are the best to buy. Since I really don't know that much anything would a great help.

umm.. if ur looking for curent hardcore stuff, ur best bets are hardcore heaven, hardcore nation, bonkers, clubland extreme hardcore, anything by the NEC.. jusrt read the threads ion here.. htere's always plenty about em.
an ppl usually post their own mixes upon here too.

and lots of other ppl hav mixes up here too!
definately worth checking out!

Vigorous: awesome - always nice to hear people are into our kind of music.
Quick lesson though: Techno is a style of electronic music - this website is dedicated to hardcore (happy hardcore, uk hardcore, etc.) so most of us don't really know that much about techno
I'm assuming you mean electronic music in general when you say techno and since you came on a happy hardcore site I can recommend some hardcore music for you to listen to.

I got very frustrated today when I mentioned that I had finished recording my radio show for a station here in Nashville TN...it goes from breakbeat to a little dnb to some hardcore...
And he said in response,
"So, it's just techno. It's not like it's hard to mix...I mean they all sound the same."
I get irritated thinking about it, but then again, I haven't met anyone who knows anything about anything when it comes to electronic music other than me.
No hard feelings...but hardcore's the best style of electronic music, so you came to the right website.

Hehe. I've gotta say, for all the whining that happens when a hardcore metal group comes to ask for us to vote for them in Battle of The Bands, there sure is a lot of animosity towards someone new to the scene!

I'd say narrowminded! kinda like most common people these days! it f*cked me off too don't worry! they know **** all let they decide to judge! a music source that is reinvented music that they know of and has 1000'S upto 1000's of diffrent styles... music they probly didn't evan think was poasable!!

First welcome mate :) welcome to the site and the scene! And the birth of mabie a new love and understanding of music in general!
When you say "Techno" - I know what you really mean is Electronic…
Now, I don't want to sound like an ass here, but I just want to lay out and explain some important information to you about ALL music! So that mabie then you’ll have a better understanding of how things work!
All Music Is Listed & Sorted Like So...
TYPE - GENRE – SUBGENRE - STYLE
As well as what’s known as a “Category” here and there placed over certain genres…
For example... ROCK!!!
IT IS NOT A GENRE!!! - It’s a Type!
Here’s an example below for a rock genre you may know as called “Punk!”
TYPE: Rock
GENRE: Punk
SUNGENRES/STYLES: Pop Punk, Hardcore Punk ect
So ^^^ “Hardcore Punk” Is a Subgenre of the Genre “Punk” Witch is a Type of “Rock” Music.
Well Just Like Rock Music… "Electronic" Music Is a "TYPE!"
As well as say “Classical” & “country” – there not genres, there types!
Below is an Example of Where “HardCore Dance” is as Genre…
TYPE: Electronic
GENRES: Hardcore
SUBGENRES/STYLES: UK Hardcore, Dutch Hardcore, Bouncy Techno, Happycore, Freeform, FinRG, ect ect (the list goes on!)
And Then Ofcourse You Get Categories
A Category of music is a list of genres under the same type that all have something in common! Below is a list of examples:
"Hard Dance" = All Genres/Subgenres/Styles listen under Electronic that are at the speed of "150BPM" and over!
“Acoustic” = All Genres/Subgenres/Styles/Songs that have an Acoustic Guitar as the main instrument!
Other examples are stuff like…
Baseline house = Funky house, Speed Garage ect
Euro Dance = Epic Trance, Anthem Trance, Anthem House ect
Anyways Back Genres, Here is a list of genres under Electronic that you may of herd of before…
House, Trance, Downtempo, Jungle, Breakbeat, dnb, “Techno”
^^^ yes indeed… “Techno” is infact its own genre! Now you can probly understand why a lot of people on here have been stressing that they don’t know anything about techno! What makes things worse, is that techno, isn’t really a good genre of music lol in my opinion, I see techno as “if its not well made, and is out of time and just sounds awful” then it is indeed techno :P
One more final thing… I highly recommend you go to this website! And have a good browse…

I’m telling you now mate… you ent EVER going to look back!
And then with this great understanding, you’ll now know, why we laugh at the odd common folk that JUDGE not just the hardcore scene – but Electronic music itself!
(Often as “techno” hehe  )
But… On the scale of size of this type of music… common people not understanding it isn’t really a bad thing… As it means that there are 1000’s of different scenes for you to join and be part of!
That’s right! No more jumping on the bagwaggon being “Emo” and following “what everybody else is doing”
This is place where you will most likely walk away from that dirty old sheep den!And...
FIND OUT… WHO YOU REALLY ARE ON THE INSIDE!!!

hardcore, especially uk hardcore (know to the dutch as happy hardcore) IS THE BEST type of edm!
ive heard so many different types (not all) and ive never had a connection with a type of edm as i have with hc
