First we had Clubland Extream Hardcore now the Decadance are bringing out out 'Hardcore classics' (from the last two years) and another one by the MoS which is 3 CDs back to back, next we will have- Now Hardcore 2007, just like now dance...
My rant is, Upfront Uk Hardcore has been so comercilised it is now club music! I worry how long it takes until Hardcore tracks will be on computer games at this rate!

Seriously smoogie hardcore aint as big as the ibiza dance stuff was, trance appeals to a larger group of people.
Could say it a different way.
Is hardcore cashing in on club cd's?
I just dont care if cd's are making money why does it bother you?
I dont buy stuff i dont want to and i dont listen to it, pretty simple solution to your problem.

It dosn't matter alot. The commercial side will come, and go. The people who really do love the music though will always listen to it; so the underground side of the scene will always remain the same. It's all good :P

what a dumb question, so for example your asking is ministry of sound cashing in off hardcore for 'history of hardcore', the answer would be yes as it is hardcore fool, who ever makes the fookin cd is gona 'cash in' what does it matter which label promotes it, ive heard raver baby is also cashing in off hardcore these days

Thought you didn't like all this UK Hardcore crap? Why are you so bothered if people are stupid enough to claim they heard the song first? Stop being elitist. Ohhh and the clubland album was Raver Baby's idea and they convinced the AATW guys to do it with incriminating photos, AATW didn't come to them about doing the compilation.

If 'club' labels cashing in on hardcore means that I get more choonage in the process then who cares?
I don't know why you'd care if it was 'club' music anyway, you don't even go to raves anyway do you?

Ok, guys, chill!
Right, I don't like this Uk Hardcore which I refer to as 'Upfront' (and yes I know Upfront could be used in a ny music) but I just (as mentioned) time again feel that some people just are going to see Hardcore as a faster and harder version of club music (which it is) and younger crowds are not going to look past that! I have had to work hard to find the Hardcore i like and it has taken me over to years to find stuff that I want to hear, of course, I have always like dance even when younger and Berri- Sunshine after the rain was on at the school disco (got high on panda pops)
I just don't want people to get the wrong idea. It is good if MoS are going to get more people into the scene, yes, but most people might not realise the roots Hardcore has!

Who cares if the people buying the CDs don't know the "roots" of hardcore. To be honest I only started listening to hardcore a couple of years ago, and when I bought the first Bonkers - the supposed start of happy hardcore etc 96 era blah blah, I was dissapointed because quite frankly the old stuff is not that good in my opinion.
And so what if companies want to make money from hardcore CDs. Its basic economics, if there is demand for it, supply the CDs and make money - everyone wins (bar you for some reason). Everyone seems to be jumping on the bandwagon because it is seen that the market for hardcore is not as saturated as House for example, and I'm guessing that the cost of making a Hardcore CD is a lot cheaper than making a more popular genre of dance CD, were royalties etc are higher
