You could say the same about any genre of music - in the end all music gets exploited, its just the way of the world

Yeah but the more money it makes the more music is made to make money, and the result is commercialised music (it happens to all commercialised Genre's), which isn't a good thing at all unless you like it :P

it's bound to change at least a little bit
and i dont go along with it, i find myself listening to the older stuff. or liking stuff with more old skool sounds to it.
majority of upfront sucks, might as well wear sunglasses, go to the clubs and dance badly to trance.

I'm probably the only one but i think in general hardcore was much better before 96.
Anno most of todays ravers see bonkers 1 as the start of everything but it wasnt, a whole load of other people see it as the end and where everything went wrong.
Other people think it was after 93 it went shit etc etc etc.
I try and keep an open mind and i think theres been good stuff made from every year, i buy all kindsa stuff but please dont think hardcores roots is 96 cheese.
Try listenin to sets of early english breakbeat from 91-94, or some scottish or dutch bouncy business from 93-97. I'm gonna try get my mate to record an old belgian set i'll pop it up here when i get it sorted.
You may jus think its shit but atleast you've heard it.
Happy/uk hardcore isnt everything theres a whole world of diff stuff, look past the shit to find what you like and it's really rewarding

while there's alot of crappy hardcore nowadays, there was also ALOT of crappy hardcore in 96
in fact, I'd say there was more...
the production quality has gone up...sure, there are clubby hardcore tunes coming from raver baby and such but there are plenty of other labels which pump out ****ing QUALITY
stop complaining, let the hardcore flow

agreed, upfront hardcore now is 'club music' this is where 'hardcore breaks' saves the day because that is still 'rave music'

I don't think Hardcore will ever become club music. It's too hard and fast... UK Rave culture is very tight and in the US impossible! Look if your not out there, then you probably don't know what Hardcore sounds like through speakers! It's still bangin'!

Just boycott the CD's... Hardcore doesn't feel the same if it's not underground!

quote: First we had Clubland Extream Hardcore now the Decadance are bringing out out 'Hardcore classics' (from the last two years) and another one by the MoS which is 3 CDs back to back, next we will have- Now Hardcore 2007, just like now dance...
If you want Hardcore like yourself, make your own CDs, **** listening to what other people consider "Hardcore Classics" especially if you feel the club scene isn't what you like... I don't mind clubs but I almost never buy Hardcore CDs because I don't want to hear how someone else span Fade's "Fly with You"... I don't even listen to the HHC.com radio because it sucks to hear how other people are spinning the records that I have in they're own way and I'm like 150% better!
