Ok, it dawned on me today, personal CD players are dated, they run out of batteries when you least expect it, they can't be recharged, they take up to much room in your pocket and they often skip, shudder shake and tyurn them selves off!
So I am going to get an I-pod after over a year of all my players breaking and I think I should move with the times!
What is your preference to listening to music while out and about?

Don't get an iPod, get a Zen.
The iPod battery is so weak, it literally lasts a few hours then it dies. The first few months are fine but each time you use the iPod it seems to drain life out of it. Granted, an iPod is better than a CD Player, but for this day and age of technology, an iPod should be so much better.

Totally agree, I have a Zen and it's so reliable.
My one's like rock, I have dropped it so many times (especially while pissed), and it still does not cease to work (but there is some really nasty damage on the case). Battery power is great too.

Gotta agree.
I was looking for a MP4 player and the Creative Zen Vision M just pisses all over the IPod Video. Battery life is twice as long and IPod only supports MPEG4 video files whilst the Vision M does AVI, MPEG2, MPEG4 DivX, XViD etc

Although I have Itunes, my Ipod does not work but I've had it for 4 years... Itunes is cool but I just burn my music to CD... So I like CDs, anyways, you totally can give up a CD to anyone (mixtape/demo wise)...
