That would cut the number of new topics posted on this board in half.

Rave = jungle, dnb, hardcore breaks...
Hip-hop & Rave Are in the same famirly...
There music made up from the use of wants known as "the amen break" sampled from a track known as "the amen brothers" in the late 70's (i think it was the 70's)
Only rave is more complex & talented, were each beat and snare of the sample is sliced and diced and moved about to make new forms of the beat... using the same sample!
^^^^ = rave music! - jungle, dnb & hardcore!
so the realy Q is... Define modon day hardcore!
I'm sorry to break the news to you... but its NOT rave
although the whole meaning of "rave" is miss used in todays electronic indestry!
4/4 = dance!
and Rave & Dance are completely different!
And then if you also add the modon day Trance synths sound to "hardcore dance" then your talking EDM (Electronic dance music)
Rave to me... in my own words... is the "punk" of all electronic formed music!
Its the catogry that is against socity & modon day life! Doing things its own way... and being different from the rest of the world!
Yet... you still get punks like MC storm on stage singing crap like "I'm a raver" and promoting whats more of a "fasion" then a music icon or scene!
Thefore "Trends" are made... on FULSE infomaction!
Mostly just to sell a product... rather then start a genuine scene!
Little 14 year olds walking around going "year man I'm a raver!"
In the SAME WAY that young kids walk around city centres saying "yeah man I'm emo" just cuse there friends are all doing it!
All of the above = the MAIN problem in todays hardcore indestry!
Its a f*cking joke! One day it will be a fasion... and all the little kids up city centres won't be emo no more... the'll be little kandi kids or some ******** like that! (the next "big thing")
All these ****s about shouting "I'm a raver, I'm a raver"
F*CK OFF ARE YOU!!! YOUR A T*AT! THATS WHAT YOU ARE!
Meaningwhile you'll have the people at the core of the indestry... the guys making the music... with smiles on there faces thinking... "yeah man, buy my records... you c*nt!"
Main Point Though...
UK HardCore - is not rave!
Global gav - is not a rave!
HTID - is not a rave
Sencation in holland - is not a rave!
There "Dance Events"
I'm sorry to have to say it... But its the truth! and you can't denie it!
RAVE = THE AMEN BREAK!!!
no amen break = NO RAVE!

I was just trying to get the feel about what HE thought rave meant.
Cuz I've heard a lot of crappy electronic music here claiming to be rave but not being so, even if one would very openminded (example: the whole "Hakkeh & en flippeh" cd series, if someone heard these and was told it was rave I can understand his point about that music being aweful).

I tend to agree with most of what you say mate but that was a load of bollocks!
I was a raver 15 years ago, and i still consider myself to be one.
I don't consider club events to be 'raves' but call me a clubber and i'll pull your head off!
