(relating to original post) You gotta have the right ear for hardcore I guess, its new very electronic and very fast. Its like me, I hate R&B coz I think its too slow & boring!

Newbies need to hear the right hardcore track as well to get them into it, I got my mate into it just by selectively playing him the best tracks I could find (starting with Euphoria - Too Beautiful)

What does my head in is the perception everyone has that you MUST be a druggy if you're into rave music. I'm not, music is my drug. "I'm a raver not a crazy drug addict!"

Well when I was around 12/13 I got my first happy hardcore cd. Moondance the force & styles cd was on, me mum went, paul I think you've got the wrong cd. I was a bit worried at first. Prior to hearing a banging ad on tv for the cd i was buzzing my lil head off lol. It started off, force & styles - paradise and dreams. I thought oh crap maybe she's right, then bamm it kicked off (i don't think i'd ever felt such a rush :o

Since then alls i've ever heard from the parents is. Thud Thud turn that noise down its giving ur mum an headache.

I guess the reason I love hardcore is because it makes me feel alive, i love the energy and no other style of music does this for me! grrrrr thank god there's raves... loud hardcore hehe :)

That and the fact that real hardcore will not show itself to the average person, and thus, all they'll have to go by is "Sandstorm" or "Every Time We Touch" (which I know is trance, but they don't usually see much of a difference.)

But wait? Aren't you just the same as the people who hate hardcore when you drop Cascada so hard? What's wrong with them? Cheesy? Have you listened to Toytown vocal mix lately mate? ;) Why don't we try setting an example and try to stomp out this genre racism... This... stylism, perhaps?

No. I admit that a lot of hardcore sucks insanely. I also happen to love trance. I just like it when it's Art of Trance or Electric Skychurch, or hell, even the occassional Tiesto does well. Cascada just happens to suck. That and trance tends to take its cheese seriously, as if it was something more interesting and engaging than it is.

Yea but where you might not find it interesting and engaging, others will think the opposite, everybodies different. Im with Lunisneko, you don't have to put something down because you don't like it, just dont listen... :)

People dislike hardcore because they know it is better than their music?
I find it hard to see that as a motive for disliking any type of music, if they prefer it then why not listen to it and as a result like it?

I concede that people can have very different viewpoints.

But I don't think there's anything wrong with stating yours, even if it's negative. Pointing out the negative is just as important as praising the positive.
