Ive been out of the loop for a while now, what are some recent must-haves to get me back in the game? (last compilation i bought was bonkers 16 and i have the best of pre-ordered) is hardcore 07 gonna be good?

My reccomendations are Hardcore 2007 (Helter Skelter v Raindance) and Hardcore Underground (if you can get hold of it)

Hardcore Underground indeed.
It's not hard to get hold of anymore now. HMV have restocked and so have others. Your best bet is the Krafty shop:

Hardcore Reunited 2 looks like the winner
I got finally got Hardcore Underground - I was super hyped because everyone was saying it was the best ever, so it expected it to be...
Basically it's a really good compilation but saying it was the best in 5 years was definately pushing it IMO.
But I'd still recommend it, the Kurt & Stormtrooper mix is BUMPING and I love the 2nd half the Cube:Hard & Darwin mix.

I'd recommend.... you guessed it hardcore underground! Just got it today yay! Kurt & Stormtroopers mix is as Dain-Ja said BUMPING!!
