does anyone really want it? (apart from the producers who dont care and just want the money?)

i dont know about you, but i dont like the thought of hearing schoolgirls on the back of my bus singing EyeOpener or pre-teens walking around the streets with HTID t-shirts

i really dont like any kind of commercial music, which is why i was really into death metal when i was yonunger, and now hardcore. i dont like to follow (see hiphop scene), and like to listen to music not everyone finds appealing

keep hardcore the way it is... producers making banging tunes, so the people who know about it can enjoy themselves

i am really glad and privileged i found hardcore, but i feel if it was commerical, i wouldnt really like it. i cant even remember how i stumbled upon it, but im so glad i did!!

sorry if my thread sounds a bit slap-dash. i really am knackered so cant form proper sentences in my head :P

If you're into Hardcore because its not "the norm" then i think you dont like hardcore for the right reasons anyway. My opinion would be that YOU would be one of those fake people walking around with HTID on their shirt.

I dont know about you, but id love EVERYONE to know about Hardcore. Why keep something so good a secret? I love introducing people to classics and getting people hooked. Many people ive introduced hardcore to are now die-hard ravers. I dont see the fault in that.

How would commercialism change Hardcore? It wouldnt. People are fake anyway, Hardcore being not commercial isnt going to make less people fake.

I just think your looking at it the wrong way. Thats just my opinion though.

P.S. Who are you to make the generalisation that producers just want to make money? If they just wanted to make money, they would be in a genre that pays a LOT more.

And if they were, who are you to judge? Are you a producer?

Point made.

As a DJ I love playing people new stuff. I like sharing the stuff that makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Its like a buzz.

How can you do that and avoid commercialisation? Catch 22.

Personally I'm not fussed about commercialisation. Like Jax said, its not gonna change my tastes. Is t going to harm the scene? Only if you let it. Hardcore is a very strong community. Thats been shown before. Quit worrying about it, and if it really does bother you then maybe its time to start looking at much less commercial scenes such as the folk scene?
