Who has the most skill on the Decks? Kev Energy or DJ Sy?
When you listen to the four newest Hardcore Heavens, I think that Kev Energy has skills that not many dance DJ's have but Sy is the Scratchmaster! So what do you think? just curious. Narcotik

Energy.
Sy is not the scratchmaster. He can do basic scratching pretty well but he'd get laughed at in a turntablist competition TBH. Sy writes pitch adjustments on his records apparently...

Kevin Energy is a much better DJ.
Sure Sy can scratch, but he barely mixes...just kind of filters into the next track without a lot of emphasis on "mixing."
Kevin Energy has some of the best tracklists for mixes I've ever heard....such creative variety. Plus he's an awesome hard dance DJ too.
And the winner is: KEVIN ENERGY!!

Kevin Energy, Sy is dull and uses to many effects during the transitions between tracks.

Kevin Energy is a pretty shitty DJ actually
He doesn't follow structure properly, he mixes off key alot, he uses the same ****ing scratch samples constantly and cuts badly. If that wasn't enough he also does a backspin every 2 mins...and a fake, loud one at that
Marc Smith > Kevin Energy BY FAR
I'll agree that some of his Hardcore Heaven stuff was "interesting" because it was quick mixing but it was recorded section by section and he would never mix like that live.
Sy isn't a great DJ mixing wise but he's definately one of the best hardcore DJs scratching wise (Dodgee and Kutski are the winners though).

I don;t rate Marc Smith that well for mixing, I've heard quite a few dodgy ones live & you can hear him flicking the vinyl and the pitch bending which sounds really bad. I'd have 2 say Sy for djing skills, but not for variety & production.

I guess we all have our bad nights
but generally he's considered tops technically for the freeform stuff and Brisk is considered tops technically for the HHC/UK hardcore stuff
Dodgee is my favourite though - just sick.

The best technical dj in hardcore and probably the best there has ever been is Brisk.
Marc Smith is also one of the best as is seduction.

Think that may be takin it a bit far
If your after skills on the decks look at some of the Spanish dj's, what they do is unbelievable.
Heres a little clip of Javi Tracker in action (this is the first 1 I found on youtube and its only short and I'm sure there are much better examples on there but I can't be arsed to find them just now lol)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mHXN7EQuz_M Amazing skills plus he's clearly enjoying it which is always good to see!!
