Its been all over the papers and on the news.
Absolute disgrace the way united fans were treated, its like going back to the 80's fans in cages being beaten and tear gassed! Fans as young as 13 were involved in the crush and tear gassing! Anyone got a view on this??

The French police probably have the taste for beatings after all those riots, not to mention the reputation English fans already have, the police were probably shitting themselves as much as the fans who thought they were gonna get crushed...

Yea it doesn't help with the reputation that english fans have, but tear gassing kids and women that were fighting to get out of a crush i just brainless and heartless! If you see a young girl pushed up against a fence and crying her eyes out, shorley that means something isn't right.

i'm a liverpool fan n obviously hate united but even they dont deserve 2 die in that way. i would of thought that even the french would have learnt a lesson from the hillsborough disaster, but look on the bright side mate no 1 died n the papers didnt slag them for being hooligans, so stop goin on about it.

It was a close call alright, atleast it ended without any major injuries. Grounds like that should be outlawed.

I thought it was a fantastic match except the incident in the fist half. So many ups and downs throughout the night, and United managed to get that vital away goal. Great second half.

There was more United fans than seats because of all the dodgy tickets.

Well, now Lille are supposedly shifting the blame on the possibility that many United fans purchased fake tickets, therefore there were too many supporters in the stands. If you ask me, Lille should be disqualified from the competition. The French police where violent and hypocritical of the Manchester United fans, when Lille where disallowed their goal the Lille fans then became hostile and started throwing objects onto the pitch, which was a serious danger to players. Also the French police decided to use tear gas on Man Utd fans, and this caused a few players on the pitch (mainly Van der Sar) to feel the after effects of the gas. And on top of the that, when United scored a goal (which was a fair goal in my opinion) the coaching staff urged the Lille players to refuse to carry on with the game! It should be clamped down, UEFA can't just turn a blind eye to all this, but in the real world, Lille will get a small fine. More should be done.

It was, but the problem did arise when fake tickets were being used, reports of tickets for lille vs lyon were being used which is just pathetic! I know fake tickets should not be used but tell me a club that has sets of fans that wouldnt do that. The matter of the fact is that fence's should not be aloud at any football stadium in the world, and police need to start growing some common sence! Stupid bastards!
