Don't even say that hardcore is more repetitive because it has much more in the song while gabber has a constant, noisy, unpleasant to the ears: BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM
I see one of the biggest tragedies in hardcore history is the loss of many great netherlandish producers that either went to other genres, disapeared, or went into gabber.
Paul Elstak for example made some awesome happy tracks, however the rest of his stuff is like evil sounding gabber.
No sorry that's a load of todwoddle.
Your average Dutch/Italian mainstream track would generally be structured in exactly the same way as a UK hardcore one, it just uses different sounds. It changes around just as much.
Just because you don't like the sound of a distorted kick drum it doesn't make it more repetitive Both are led by a continuous kickdrum... Think about what your saying mate.

You think that's the mentality behind gabber? I think that's what distinguishes between bad gabber and good gabber.
Go listen to Butterfly by Ophidian and get back to me, and then listen to Your Choice by The Stunned Guys and Tommyknocker. That's good gabber.
Right. Should clear some things up.

hahahahahahahahahahahahaha
uk gaycore = "clever synths"
sorry hahahahahahahahahaha
**** shitty nu style, **** uk lamecore, bangin beats and breaks all the way.
What a shitty statement and i pity people who think uk cheese is good music, must be some kinda mental retardation.
Anyway back on topic, brisk is badass back in 90's, not so keen on his stuff now but mixin and tune choice he rocks the bouncy old gear

Does the mainstream screechy dutch stuff from the likes of Neophyte still get called Nu-style? Because most of that is utter **** that gets boring very quickly imo.

just another example of how backwards and shit this country is for hardcore, still callin stuff nu-style when its been about since 98.
Screechy dutch musics pish, nearly as bad as uk shit. Real hardcores amazin though, old brisk on the bouncy techno is immense and i doubt i'll ever grow out of it. Anno your mopre breakbeats than european hardcore clarke but i dont think a fan of rave music can deny how good bouncy techno/old speedcore is.

No. I like some of it. I went through a stage of listening to lots of mainstream dutch releases(Neophyte, Rotterdam Records etc) with a view to purchasing. (so clips and stuff) That was probably a year or 2 ago. I purchased hardly any though, it all sounded the same to me and annoying at that after a while.
I know I limited myself by what i looked at but the choice with hardcore techno and euro stuff is almost endless really and i would have been lost in the amount of releases. I find the same thing with DnB to much choice for a casual listener to really find good hidden gems or things away from the mainstream.
I do like quite a lot of earlier European stuff although I havnt really heard a great deal and enjoy decent kick drum led stuff as much as the breaks stuff. Anything over about 250bpmish isnt really to my taste.
