i personally love mine
had them for a few years and used them heavily. been fine. love the pitch control on them soo nice to just tweak it slightly.
imo top stuff
only problem i have is gettin the feel of 1210s when i play out hehe. but its just a case of remembering the torque difference

love ttx's, 1200's, & pdx's
it's nice to have a set of technics laying around so you can practice on them before you play out (since most venues only use those)

Personally prefer 1210's... Find TTX1s don't hold quite as well and are a bit jumpy in bad conditions.

Okay I struggled with this descision for awhile, Numarks are really beautiful but 1210's are really what you want, every club, venue I know uses Technics...., just buy a cheap BPM counter and you got the same thing! (btw, are you talking MK2's because I would get 1200 PK's; there black also, heavier and just feel stronger....; they're rare though, I had to buy mine seperately NY & Chicago!), ask the dealer they'll give you some good advice, also if you're skratching Technics!

umm you shouldn't have to buy a bpm counter...you need to learn to mix through practice. If you get to play at a gig more than likely you won't have a bpm counter there so then what are you gonna do?
there were more 1210s sold in europe than the united states, hence why they are rare here.
and you can scratch just as easy (if not easier due to torque) on the pdx's & ttx's

what are you on do think vestax would ahve charged £1300 PER DECK! for PDX 8000 if they wern't better if you want the best decks 1210s are not even in the top 5
but every club has them, they will probly last for 50 years if you look after them and still a verry long time if you dont
but all in my top 5 WONT last if neglected and will requirw repair after about 5-10 years with
regluar use and fulty decks are more more common except stanton str8's
1. VESTAX PDX 8000
2. VESTAX CONTROLLER ONE
3. STANTON STR8
4. NUMARK TTX1
5. VESTAX PDX 2300

That's a load of crap mate (I can't understand all of your message completely but I think I'm reading it right)... They're highly responsive, well constructed and they hold well which is a lot more than can be said about certain other decks.
Sure they don't have turbo pitch adjustments and can't play backwards but I mean all that crap is just a load of shit to list so they can say, "look we have 20 useless functions we gotta have the best deck right here". If any of them were of any use technics would have incorporated them into there decks a long time ago as it wouldn't add **** all $ to the manufacturing process.
Also I personally thing TTX's & PDX's have too much torque... If you need to shift something into place quick it's more difficult and I don't like that. I think technics have it perfectly balanced you don't need any more torque.
Just my 2c. Personally don't mind using any of them they're all decent decks but technics get my vote every time.

Tottally agree with you on that, i had PDX2000's when they first came out there are ok but i sold them and now have 1200's mk5 believe me these are so much better all round
@SickPigRecords
If you honestly believe that you must be on some kind of class A drugs
@Brian K
Ok so maybe you can answer this, is its easier or better for scratching why do so many of the top turntabilists are demand any venue they play at have techics?
Jazzy Jeff
Grandmaster Flash
Dj AM
The list is endless
Maybe try educating yourself more on a subject before giving out crap advice
Check on you tube all the top names and i will almost guarantee 9 out of 10 will be using technics!
But to answer the original question, it is good to have used various decks to get the feel of them but if you plan on getting gigs no matter what anyone says you will be using technics alot more than anything else, does it not make sense to practice on these?
They are not the industry standard for nothing!

because technics became the industry standard, that's what most people are going to use
much like how pioneer cdj1000s became the industry standard, hence you're going to see a lot of venues using those
it doesn't mean they are the best equipment for you just because they are a standard.
there are things you can do on a pdx that you can't do on a 12.
most of your hip hop djs are going to go w/ 12's because that's what is used at dmc and technic only items are used there.
go watch qbert play on some pdx's or the qfo...I know a couple hip hop djs that when they come to play here they insist on the venue supplying pdx's
and like I really trust youtube to be the authority on djing =P

^^ just shows your a complete bell end[:P]
as i state already i had PDX and no way are they better than technics IMO
Qbert gets paid from vestax, so i wonder why he uses them.
I told you to look at other videos on youtube to prove that the others don't, i already know most use technics, but hey if your want to keep your head up your own arse that fine by me
Also i think you will find the reason that pioneer cdj's became the standard is cause they are also the best cdj available on the market today
Anyway just out of curiosity what can you do on a PDX you cant on a technic, keep in mind i don't like to listen to tracks in reverse or at + or - 50%

it's a personal preference, I own m5gs & pdxs. why am I bell end for having an opinion, you have one and I didn't bad mouth you =P
and qbert works for vestax, they let him do designs for them (as well as ortofon). same as carl cox, mix master mike, cut chemist, dj krush etc.
it's a lot easier to do certain tricks on a pdx than it is on a 12. any trick mixing I'd rather do on a pdx. one thing I really like is they can do tones better, you can pitch slower/faster hip hop easier, you can wind songs up down to slide into a different genre. straight arms are better for scratching, you can replace the newer s arms on techs w/ straights finally =P
pioneer cdjs became the standard because they were the first cdj that could emulate vinyl, there are others that can do it but due to them doing it first...people go w/ a name.
