Came up with an idea a while back and decided to put it out there to see what the public thinks and perhaps some respectable member of the community would be willing to take on the project. This persona definately aint me ; )
Idea goes >> Charity Label where producers can ocassionally donate a track or two.
Pros>> Producers + Listeners would be doing a good deed with something they enjoy
Cons>> Cant think of any
There are probably only a handful of members who have been around long enough and have the respectable reputation that we can trust to this task lol.
That given.....Heart, Brains, Resources & Time are essential factors which most probably rules most people out. However who am I to pass judgement on who doesnt have the heart and brains.
Anyone with a good recommendation...please reply or ignore as you please ; )

If your talking physial media (ie vinyl, CD etc) then I would say forget it. Labels are struggling to break even, let alone make a profit that they could donate to charity.
Could work as a download though, but then where are the sales in that?
Its a good idea though - anyone got any other thoughts?

It is a good idea but as Underloop said it'd have to be by Download only....
....and then all the pikey thieving little shits would just download without donating.
Of course if anyone wins the lottery then there's no excuse not to do it.

Digital would definately make it more available to the public and perhaps people (most) would have the decency not to rip these tracks given that its going to a worthy charity.
I dont know too much about how well mp3 sales goes.....but if its mentionable then its probably worth I reckon.
Maybe even an mp3 store where youre not limited to the few tracks that get donated. Like I know if I had the choice to buy the exact same mp3 and one store was sending its profits off to a good cause, Id definately go with them. It'll also build a good reputation to the scene (so many pros ; )
Youse 3 definately are worthy imo....been around as long as anyone else, have been involved with Charity Radio work and according to my judgement, have the connections & intelligence to get it off the ground.
Id definately be keen on helping out where its needed.

Whilst I am definitely interested in this project, I can't afford to take on any more work at the moment until I have got my thesis handed in, which is looking like late September. After that I'd more than happily get involved.... not forgetting the much delayed Progress 2K7 event of course!

Yes, the Progress 2K7 event....
and also, with regard to the Charity Label, it's the Time needed, that winning enough money to retire on, would make available.
*....keeps fingers crossed*

At the moment I'm really not sure.... I'll have more of an idea in a couple of months time, but its looking like being last quarter of 2K7

Sounds interesting, so if you illegal download the track you're stealing from charity :)

I would think so if it was released by the same label selling for charity, maybe you should incorporate a charity label going with this site Silver ; )

Any charity organizations in mind to which you would feel inclined to donate?

What Underloop here is trying to say, is they design and test vibrators.
