Yes, when they're used in the right context! We'll end up a country of complete idiots at this rate...
There's just no need, it's not exactly hard for him to turn caps off is it! Fair enough if you want to write in cap's to make it easier for people to read (provided it's not an official letter or something) but it hardly makes it easier to read when you're writing on a computer.
If it is supposed to be some sort of a joke or a wind up it's a crap one.

Most of us are fairly young - I'm sure we can deal with a few capital letters. Shock, horror.
Maby you havent used internet forums for that long, and such rules may sound ridiculous to you. Reasons for that may be that you havent used unmoderated forums, only browse for very short times et cetera. Hey, there was a time when we didnt have traffic regulations either. But as the use of automobiles increaced, so did the need for common rules for people to follow. I suggest you get familiar with Netiquette, in e.g. wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Netiquette That is, if you usually like to "get along" in the message boards you use. Heres the common forum rules from that article:
quote: Forum etiquette Certain rules of unspoken etiquette are recommended to be followed when using Internet forums. They include: * One should read all the rules and guidelines established by the community. Some communities may have different regulations on a particular subject. * One should always be courteous to other forum members. * Before creating a new topic thread, one is advised to search to see if a similar topic already exists. * Contributors should follow standard grammar and spelling rules and avoid slang. Leetspeak is sometimes accepted. * If the forum is categorized, one should strive to post in the correct section. * When making a technical inquiry, one should include as much technical information as possible, especially in the subject line. * Contributors are asked to stay on-topic. * Contributors should avoid double posting and Crossposting. * To avoid appearing self-absorbed, one should respond to topics started by others more often than starting topics of their own. * Contributors should avoid the use of all CAPITAL LETTERS in posts. All CAPS is considered "shouting" and causes readability issues. * One is advised not to resurrect a very old topic if nothing significant will be added. This practice is known as revival or Necroing. * One should try to refrain from lashing back at a poorly behaving member or participating in a flame war; instead, notify the messageboard's staff of the event. * When quoting a previous post, one should only include the relevant portion of that post. Contributors are requested to keep in mind that their audience can likely still see the message they are quoting on the same screen and can read it again if need be. * Signatures on forums should have a maximum height of 100 pixels, as to not cause clutter.
These are the very basic rules, just for the use of forums. In many message boards, the ones that refuse to follow the rules, are usually banned straight away. Which is basicly like kicking out that trouble maker from a bar. With the same reasons, they are kicked out from forums. They drive away valued members, and cause extra work for the staff. However, we tend to be more understanding before banning people.

I currently run a night based on the south coast, called Southern hardcore Productions. Having seen some of your work, I must say that I am impressed. I was hoping you may have a recording, in whatever format you prefer, that you could send to me as we are always on the hunt for new talent. If needbe, you can leave me a message here, and I will try and contact you asap.
Many thanks.

You're really gonna take on the founder of the site, on a matter that the majority agree on, and try and say he aint a raver. Funnily enough, i seem to remember last seeing Silver at a small event called Westfest, hosted by a minor organisation known as Slammin Vinyl, last October. He was on stage actually, cant think why........

Gary, give it up! You challenge us about not wanting you to post in caps - why do you want to post in caps?

Possibly because no-one would give him the time of day otherwise, which is a little sad tbh, cos if he was really serious he would be doing everything he possibly could to get on with what he thinks he is good at, just like the rest of us.....shame i think i'm a good comedian....do you think i should post all my jokes and quips in caps? ;-)
