So...let's say I want to make a rave, and I have a giant field in the middle of nowhere with no noise laws (they're all over the place around here.) What should I do to create a rave, making it cool, and make sure lots of people come to it?

As far as the stereo goes, I can figure out how to do that, considering how much info there is on Squatjuice and other forums. And I have very little money. Would pairing up with a different group of promoters be best? (considering I see nothing but events of "Promoters A with Promoters B present" on them, I'm guessing that's a good option.) Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

First would be to get you're self a good P.R with the locals i.e going out doing sets in clubs house party's and just getting you're name out there, that way you have a wide fan base for them to start spreading the word
Second would be to sort you're finances out by getting a load or like you said paring with another promoter(s) and talk with them about maby setting an event see who's in and who's out that way you can see the £ range you're in and what and who you can hire for the night by 'what' i mean Lights, Floors basic tent structure to hold it under unless you're going for an open range.
Third I would be to set a date and time and Tickets (ither on the door or from a news agent ect.) Then see what DJ's are available on that time unless your going solo slots with you and you're friends.
(Pre booking the DJ's for the night is handy but some DJs charge you for 'lost time' wish can damage you're funds quite alot, so booking nearer the date would bee better.) after booking the essentials that you need.
Forth Would be a good time to start putting out fliers over the net and the surrounding public to get the event broad casted (make it flashy, all the big DJs in big letters and working down the list through skill. list all the extras you're going to have i.e open bar ect, you want alot of colors and maby give the flier some kind of theme i.e Hardcore Old school smiley faces yellow circle with dots and lines (i dunno) 2k + Hardcore alot of mechanisms to give it the future kind of feel, unless your doing solo arenas then obviously do a theme for each arena.

After doing those above and maby a few extras you'd like to throw in the mix you should be all set, i cant remember exactly how i go about organizing the event because im usually an extra on to setting them and leave the main setting for the main holder, but thats basically how i went and set a recent event of mine. =)

Hope it helps, and if any one knows better correct me if im wrong because I'd also like some info on it.

In addition to Pure's suggestions, there are another 3 vital elements to putting on a large scale party of any genre:

1) blood

2) sweat

3) tears
