Hey Everyone,

Just writing this as I don't know what to do with myself at the moment and I guess im just looking to see if anyone else can offer me some advice or share any experiences that they have been through?

Ill keep this short...

Me and my girlfriend jen a few hours ago just split. Well really she decided it would be best if we ended our relationship, we had been together for a little over 3 years.

Throughout our relationship I must admit I had not put in the best effort and had taken her somewhat for granted, I recently turned around and really put in the effort to try and pick things back up again, I thought things were going excellent, I was ontop of the world, then She basically told me it was too late, she realised that she had been taken for granted for so long and decided it would be best to end it.

Obviously I could explain it a lot more but that is the general outline of it.

I am just feeling so destroyed right now, I am wondering if anyone else could share some of their previous experiences with me? I am just so down at the moment, I do not know what to do. Any tips on what helped you through previous seperations?

I would really appreciate any reply that anyone has and sorry for the soppy topic!.

Cheers,

Dave.

Just go out with your mates have a good time, play about, give it a while and you be good as new!

It happens to most people at some time in there life but it how we deal with it that show real character!

Keep that head up and rememebr 1 thing! Her loss not yours!

Yeah mate,

I'm sure a lot of us on ere have had this experience unfortunately but as already mentioned i would get ya self out with mates & not dwell at home on it. If ya are at home play music that will keep ya happy & generally try to keep ya self busy. I feel for ya chap as i have had it happen to me before. Ya head swims for a while but it will get easier.

Hard as it is, try to avoid chasing after her for reasons for the split. It gives her control of ya emotions, cause when ya don't try to contact em & it seems to her that ya are cool with what has happened, it does their bonce in.

I'm not trying to get ya to do mind games or anything, i'm just saying that when she realises that you are (or appear) ok with the split, then they may reconsider.

But then again i wouldn't know if that is what you would want.

Chin up bud

I had a really hard time when my mrs split with me, I ended up dropping out of college and going really off the rails. It sounds silly, but i found drinking every night actually helped. Helps you forget about it and you meet lots more people because you spend all your time in the pub.

Another thing I did was start taking the gym seriously. It makes you feel really good about yourself and makes her look bad when you get in good shape and shes still a fat heffer from all the take aways you've had with her over the years!!!!

Also talk to other people that have been through it too. You'll soon realise that all women are the same (waits for a slap) and its not bad after all

Its a shame she didnt cheat on you because theres nothing more satisfying than lamping the guy she did it with. It really does help.

Exactly
if ya can afford it get ya self some new threads & as matey said perhaps join the gym, get ya self fitter and show her what she is missing.

Ya will be ok bud, trust us

Thanks for the encouraging comments everyone. Its 6am right now and im going to take today off work, I cant sleep and I have my e-mail open just wanting to e-mail her. The thing is I have nothing really I can say, I know she has made up her mind and its all done.

Again it just came as a real shock as I honestly thought things were better than ever as I was putting in the effort and it was really making things great, then turns around and its all gets thrown in my face!.

Again thanks for the encouragement I really appreciate what you all have to say and that fat heffer comment really cracked me up bent_bananna, cheers mate

Accept it.

Live with it.

Don't try to drink yourself or kid yourself out of it.

Don't pick-up any old tart and f*ck yourself out of it.

Take each day as it comes.

Learn from it....

and the pain will pass.

It's not the lost love that hurts but the rejection. Swallow your pride and move on.

....maybe so but I'm older, wiser and a lot more grown-up.

What don't kill you makes you stronger. Use the experience wisely and benefit from it.

Yeah, thanks Ionosphere. I know what I need to do.

I just spoke to her on the phone then, we both really want to be friends as she is my best friend and I still want her to be.

I just don't know how I am going to be able to be on a 'just friend' level. I guess time will only tell but again thanks for all the encouragement, its really great to know other people are out there (As stupid as that sounds I just feel like there isnt at the moment).

Also sorry if im coming across all 'emo' im not meaning to be and im usually far from it! (As you can tell by my sig) just lost something big

Girls always bust your balls, happens to everyone, best advice I can give you if ignore it, most people will say "it's better to get it out in the open" but that is because they want to hear all the details and doesn't help you. Ignore it, move on, work on your mixing, a hobby, take up sailing, whatever, hang out with your mates and don't think about it as it will just depress you the more you think about it.
