i got a denon and a cdj, so i was used to both of them rather than getting used to one and not the other, it doesnt look as nice having odd cd decks but its a lot better knowing how both work :)

exactly why i asked the question. i dont wanna have the stupidest look on my face when i see these things. they look cool and it sucks they have on-board fx compared to the 1000's not having any. oh well...... thanks jax

how's the learning curve in relation to the Pio mk3's?

Actually no.

I've only seen pioneer's out and about. I did see a stanton thing on the weekend, but thats because someone brought it in.

It would seem like the standard would be either CDJ100's or CDJ1000's with a pair of 1210's either side of them and a pioneer mixer. Seen a pair of 800's once, but never seen anything else.

I have seen some Allen & Heath 'Xone' mixers floating about, but I really dont like the feel or the look of those. They're not cheap, they just feel yuck.

Every club / party has Pioneers, any club that doesn't is cheap basically. I bring my own denon's to use (prefer them).
