*Attention: This review contains spoilers*

So, as did millions of other Simpsons fans, I went to see their film today. Well, my review: don't bother. The Simpsons' Movie lives up to it's predecessors (episodes 2003-2007), that is, not very much. There are a few cool jokes bung in the plot like 'Spider Pig' and 'Bart's naked skateboard ride', but all the good stuff could've been in a normal episode anyway. So here's the plot: Springfield is in a state of environmental crisis (code black) and everyone completely forbidden to dump anything in the lake. But Homer pays no attention, dumping a silo of pig crap in the lake, causing it to overflow and seriously **** up the town. The government decides to lock Springfield in a huge dome, to stop pollution from spreading. When the silo is retrieved, everyone finds out it was Homer's fault and decide to kill him. But he and the Simpsons escape to the outside and flee for Alaska. On their way, Homer wins a truck by driving a motorcycle around a loop in a county fair. But when they find out that President Schwarzenegger's government plan to seriously nuke Springfield, Marge and the kids return to try and save Springfield, leaving stubborn Homer to walk back from Alaska. When Homer finally comes back, he uses his amazing motorcycle skills to get the bomb out of the dome via a small hole at the top. Then everything ends happily ever after.
The film contains full frontal nudity, moderate language, hints of sexuality and comic violence.
My rating: 3/10

Those episodes of The Simpsons are by far the best :P They get better and better! The oldest ones are boring in comparison.

I'm sorry I completely disagree. I believe that there are a few really good episodes in there (i.e. The Regina Monologues aka Homer goes to the UK or The Simpsons in China) but other than the odd few I find the Simpsons has had a serious quality decline.

I was disappointed by the way that all of the best jokes could've been put in ANY Simpsons episode.

I aren't going to bother with this, saw the trailer and the only thing that made me laugh was spider-pig.

Spider pig, spider pig,
Does whatever a spider pig does,
Can he swing from a rope?
No he can't, he's a pig,
Look out! Here comes the spider pig

I'm, sorry but... What was you expecting?

Its The Simpson's man... and Besides, the sketch in the movie are ones that would appeal to wide audiences (aka, ones that would probs be missed if it was in an episode)

For example, i saw a clip of the "grand Theft Auto" Scene! with the dancing penguin!
lmfao - was in bits!

You can see it here...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t20f9RobFgw

^^^^ Now tell me, how many people have played that game? LOADS! (its one of the most popular games of the 21st century)

However... Not everyone are gamers... and you need to ask yourself "How many people watch an episode" (or should i say, MISS episodes) and "how many people would watch a movie?"

^^^ All the best stuff saved for the film. Not necessary typical punch lines (aka episodes) but stuff that relates to different people and cultures - i.e. a wider Audience!

Meaning - i wouldn't be suprized to see a few "Hardcore Simpson Fans" be disappointed :)

Simply because of the way an industry works... ???
Doesn't matter anyways - I think its clear to say this film is gonna turn over a shite load of cash! :)

There are jokes in there that would not be in an episode. And I don't care how many people say it, this film is not an extended Simpsons' epidsode. It's a feature length film, that has a FILM plot, FILM effects, FILM sound. The film would not be the same on the small screen, cos the drawings were made for the big screen. And the only things good in there could have been done in an episode.

I am a huge fan and to be honest it will please most of the fans. It's a decent watch but nothing more. The Simpsons is no longer as funny as it was during the early to mid-nineties (classic episodes) and i think the writers have simply run out of jokes. 'Bart's naked skateboard ride' is probably the highlight of the movie.

i thought it was enjoyable, but definitely nothing special. there were some pretty funny parts, and now that i look back it didn't feel like it was too long a movie, so i can't complain really!

I laughed a lot, and was impressed.

You bunch of complainers. :P

It was better than the Family Guy "movie." :D
