Personally, I think Re-Con and Styles for their excellent singing, (usually) great melodies and nice lyrics. I'm also quite fond of UFO and Sharkey!

hmm yeah i deffo agree.. your engineering and production skills are no match up to people like luna c or scott brown. wikkid dj aswell
To be fair... Scott brown does't have alot to engineer in the first place (what... a bassline, lead synth, a few FX's here and there and a kick drum? [with may i add, a small tiny release on both kick & basses (courcing a "flatter" tune and less pressure on the low end [i.e. not must work to do in "Engineering"])
And luna c's style of production is designed NOT to sound well engineered in the first place lol (to give that gritty & routh feel to the music from the early 90's)... - not that he can't engineer lol... just his style doesn't really depend on it
Production Knowhow - Gammer!
Production Talent - Cube::hard
Engineering Skills: Darren Styles [can't disagree with it... Every tune his made - the levels & EQ are always flawless... it always sounds spot on!]
DJing Skills: Exhile? Brisk :) Kutski
Remixing : Darwin - OMFG! Without A Dowt!!!!
^^^^ Thats My View Anyways

Far to many to mention, it's tricky to name "the outright best" imo as so many people have different styles.

darwins name is coming up an awful lot, i havent heard much of his stuff, is great though. @ sk8sim whats the diff between production knowhow and talent.. and im nearly agreeing that gammer could be the best, very great producer.

as far as production goes in way of engineering - mixing down and mastering a track im surprised nobody has said squad E. You may not like his donk basslines but tell me his actual engineering skills arent some of the best.

his style is very original, you know its a squad e track if you hear it, i do lke the donk basslines infact, but i really love his lead, full of energy and presence. brilliant. he is quite talented i guess, very polished up work.. i think he may have to vary his own style a bit, some people might get a bit bored of the same synth or bass, like with scott brown.. but i certainly dont mind, everyone has the right to their trade mark sound in my opinion.

Production Knowhow - Knowleagde of what makes a track "work" - Gammer is one of these guys that can sit there and though ANYTHING together - and make it all fit together [like someone else commented] He has sooo many diffrent styles... and its for the same reason... he simply just knows how to make a track "flow" no matter what...
Production Talent: Talent - Musically... Melody, Pad & Strings ect ect - This guy knows how to combid melodys from all diffrent backgrounds that work togehter... asif they were one!
In effect - creating music that blows you away!
So just to recap...
So Production Knowhow = A Smart arse that knows how to make great music
Production Talent = Musically Skilled
^^^ I don't know lol... it was just a cunning way of fitting them both in

He makes good music, but generally never changes his template
Either way, he's always written amazing tunes and has stayed consistent.
However, most talented i'd say Gammer, he's alot more talented than most of the veterans.
"My vote goes to Styles. I realise this is going to prompt fevered debate, but I have very good reasons ;)
He can now engineer up w/ the best of them, his musicality has been evident from the get go and demonstrated ably. He can do decent songwriting, insofar as that difficult balance between content and catchiness. He can sing, perhaps not to everyones taste but it's clear that a lot of people rate his vocal performances highly. He's contributed more anthems over the past 10 years than anyone else."
"
Who are the 'best of them' are you talking Hardcore or general Dance?? Styles's engineering has always been of high standards in Hardcore.

yeah people please stop this crap about saying that styles is untalented, you should just take a look at his tracks and see how polished they are, and how well written they are. He even writes his own vocals, really well too. Only a handful has done what Styles has done in hardcore.
Gammer is absolutly amazing for his age, he outdoes dougal by far, and i dont think dougal ever did a track by himself.

"Styles's engineering has always been of high standards in Hardcore."
Has it? Even in the 90s when Force was engineering, or the early 00's when Breeze was?
