This part deals with the Americans. 1st tornados...hurricans...massive wildfires....states wanting Succession....water shortage...This is really starting to worry me.

Also, our climate is slowly changing, worldwide, and I honestly don't know if its directly from global warming, or just a chronic climate change that happens every few years. We really need to start coming together instead of all this fighting because before long, we are all going to need each other. All I can do is pray that everyone is kept safe, and I ask that no one lower themselves to bash my beliefs on a forum. I am not trying to convert anyone. I just think we all need some comfort because these issues are really worrying me, and i am sure other people too.

gotta love catching some rays at the bus stop after school
during the time of year when usually you're forced to cover up your halloween costume with a jacket because it's so damn cold out.

states are wanting to succeed? first I've heard of that...

the weather really hasn't been that bad. most things can and should be expected each year...I'm still waiting for an earthquake in new york. fires are in california almost every year, just hitting more houses this year.

droughts are everywhere all the time. atlanta is experiencing the worst drought in 100 years...ie it's happened before and should be a lesson that if you don't learn from the past it's bound to repeat itself.

I'm also waiting for the next ice age to start, we're over due.

i share those beliefs. i think we're overdue for a disaster, sometimes i think that this boring everyday life is the calm before the storm. i hate this "every man for himself" world that i find myself in.

impending disaster is on the horizon. sometimes i think the beginning of the end is just around the corner and everyone is so oblivious to it.

i completely believe in global warming, and i hate that there is nothing SERIOUS being done about it. every summer there are record high temperatures, and general freak weather more often through out the year. it's gonna get to the point where we can't even go outside in the summer soon without our skin blistering, and it scares me sometimes to think about what the world will be like in just 4 or 5 years from now.

i think we passed the point of no return years ago, but it's still a good idea to prevent it from getting any worse. no one likes taking the bus or biking to get around, but it's about all i can do at this point (aside from littering etc) to help things from getting worse. i like the convenience of a car, but it also makes me angry to see 1 person per vehicle cruising around everyday...

we're gonna need nothing short of a miracle to save the world at the rate it's getting destroyed at. and the funny thing is, if everyone did their part and worked together we'd probably not even be in this position. some people can only care about themselves. this world makes me sick a lot of the time.

you can't share the beliefs with americans about the future of america if you aren't american.

that isn't called sharing if you do.

it's called a violation of homeland security.

if we are overdue for a disaster, was new orleans just a headache on a bad day? We get these things every year, and have for centuries, its called nature.

i am undecided about global warming. i have heard evidence for and against it. evidence for was given by the green's and evidence against was given by scientists. tbh the evidence against was quite compelling. Check out Micheal Crichton's novel State of Fear - obviously exaggerated in the attempts of the greens but food for thought none the less.

the last two summers in Sydney have been the two coldest in recent history. This one has the looks of a belter though which will be good. as for general freak weather, the worst we had was 3 weeks or so of rain. not heavy or storming, but just rain. winter was probably colder than normal, but sydney didnt see snow.

The main problem witht he global warming theorists, is none can agree on what is going to happen. they all agree on disaster, but no consistent reports on whether it will be cyclones, heat waves, an ice age or massive desert creation

No offense, but your canadian, probably pale as snow, and would get burnt in any sun, even in winter.

i think this is one area in which you can comfort yourself. while it would seem that the point of no return has been passed, previous experience may suggest otherwise. The worlds environment system really does seem to have a remarkable capability for correcting itself. it wouldseem that the effects of the industrial revolution would take a thousand or so years to right itself. since 1850 or so Sydney harbour was very industrial, factories, workshops, the works etc belching lead and sulphur and all those pretty smokes into the air. in that time Sydney harbour became more or less a swamp. all life left from it. The government decided to stop pumping crap into it and clean it up a bit. in the last two years, life in the harbour is as prosperous as it was before industry took over. it had beem more or less completely reverted in less than 15 years.

almost everyone cares only about themself. its called being human. almost sociopathic really

The fires in Claifornia were apparently started by arsonists and yesterday a man was shot dead by police under suspicion of being an arsonist.

mr. ritalin:

i never complained that i was dead and/or dying so i'm not sure what that "you're still alive?" question was asking. it sounds more like a statement than anything, and if that's the case, then yes, i agree. i am still alive.

i live 4 hours from the canada/US border. it's not like we have something completely different going on in canada separate from the US. considering we inhabit the same continent, and our countries are only divided by a fence or imaginary line, i think i'm more than entitled to share any concerns i want to with someone who lives in the united states of america. this isn't only happening to you guys you know.

new orleans is only a taste of what is to come. it doesn't really matter what disaster will happen, no one can predict without a shadow of a doubt what it's going to be. what they can agree on though is that some funky shit is gonna go down soon. all these subtle weather anomalies that are being brushed off as just "freak" occurances are all just signs. things will get worse. convincing yourself otherwise is just foolish IMO. everyone can agree, no matter what continent they live on, that they have experienced unusual weather at some point during the past few years, be that the coldest summer in sydney history or otherwise. there is a shift happening no one can deny that.

the easiest solution is to just sweep it under the rug and say "oh it's just a 5000 year cycle" or something, it'll work itself out. mankind, plain and simple. we're a blight on this earth and we're killing it.

i find it funny that you think i'm pale as snow and wouldn't burn. that seems to be a common misconception with canada. i'm sure australia is hotter than canada, but we did see temperatures this summer as high as 104 F (40 C).

in a nut shell, we are doomed. enjoy life while it lasts. you can call me negative, but i think i'm just being realistic.
