as much as the industry tries to deny it so they can keep doing their thing
@alex:
Sure their has been freak weather over the last few years, but there has been freak weather for the last century. cyclones and huricanes have been around for centuries and have been much worse than in the last years or so. New Jersey was just unlucky that they were in the path of one. bushfires as well are just natures way of keeping forests under control, even if they were lit by arsonists :P

i live 4 hours from the canada/US border. it's not like we have something completely different going on in canada separate from the US. considering we inhabit the same continent, and our countries are only divided by a fence or imaginary line, i think i'm more than entitled to share any concerns i want to with someone who lives in the united states of america. this isn't only happening to you guys you know.
new orleans is only a taste of what is to come. it doesn't really matter what disaster will happen, no one can predict without a shadow of a doubt what it's going to be. what they can agree on though is that some funky shit is gonna go down soon. all these subtle weather anomalies that are being brushed off as just "freak" occurances are all just signs. things will get worse. convincing yourself otherwise is just foolish IMO. everyone can agree, no matter what continent they live on, that they have experienced unusual weather at some point during the past few years, be that the coldest summer in sydney history or otherwise. there is a shift happening no one can deny that.
the easiest solution is to just sweep it under the rug and say "oh it's just a 5000 year cycle" or something, it'll work itself out. mankind, plain and simple. we're a blight on this earth and we're killing it.
i find it funny that you think i'm pale as snow and wouldn't burn. that seems to be a common misconception with canada. i'm sure australia is hotter than canada, but we did see temperatures this summer as high as 104 F (40 C).
in a nut shell, we are doomed. enjoy life while it lasts. you can call me negative, but i think i'm just being realistic.
I don't like you, I think you are a complete bozo.

but my main point is: actually read some scientific journals about the stuff, and not ones that have been funded by the green parties, but legit papers. there really seems to have been no observed increase in average temperature. sure there might be freak days, but no more or less than 20 odd years ago n no more than decades ago

none taken. i don't take anything personally that comes from a total stranger. we butt heads, plain and simple. you've made it more than clear on a number of occasions that you think "i'm a bozo". i may think the same thing about you, but we can agree to disagree. neither one of us can be expected to like everyone on this board. i tolerate people everyday, i can't see a problem with adding another person to the list. you?
i like this genre of music, i use this forum, we don't get along. i'm willing to make small sacrifices. that's something i'm gonna have to deal with and i'm in no way going to leave this forum because of it.
talk about global warming instead of how much of a bozo you think someone is. last time i checked the topic of this thread wasn't how much of a bozo alex_e is. i'm really sorry we don't see eye to eye on every topic, really i am. it's terribly unfortunate that everyone doesn't think the same thing as everyone else. get over it. you may actually be surprised at how much we have in common. i'm sincerely sorry for sharing my opinion and not thinking that body mods are so totally awesome like every other raver.
stick to the topic. last time i checked, this thread was something along the lines of global warming, not how much of a bozo i am.

You and I don't have anything in common. I'll list them:
I'm an actual Dj.
I'm taller than you.
I've been married before.
I have two children.
I don't live with my parents.
I'm 30 years old.
I live in a different country than you.
I allow life to be gentle and kind to me.
I have friends.
I have a fan base.
I play out regularly.
I play ice hockey and used to play Junior level Tier II Ice Hockey. I tried out for the Tacoma Rockets in the WHL twice before they moved to Kelowna.
I have over 40 tattoos
Should I keep going? TBH I'm pretty sure we aren't even into the same music. Just because it's called hardcore doesn't mean it's all the same.
See the thing is, is that tolerance in others leads you to a pathway of never realizing that you are actually an *******. Instead of just tolerating people, why don't you get to know someone before making broad generalizations and making others feel as though they are not worth holding the pot you piss in. You never have anything positive to say about anything and the point I was trying to make with following you around posting in the same threads is that I don't give a shit what the topic is, I will just say dumb shit to you or about you because you never have anything nice to say to other people.
note: global warming is b.s.
Anyway, no we don't have anything in common.
And if we did, you'd just bitch about it anyway right?

-that' all depends on what you mean by dj. i have a collection of over 100 records, and i can mix 2 together. most of the people here can too.
-we're not the same height, that doesn't surprise me.
-no kids, no wife. not something i want at the ripe old age of 21 either.
-i don't live with my parents, i don't even live in the same city as either of them.
-you're right, we aren't from the same country thing.
-everyone has friends.
-you play out because i can guarentee you that you've been spinning for longer and take it more seriously than i do.
-hockey has never been my thing.
-i have no tattoos. i can tell from yours that we like the EXACT same music. in that sense, we probably have everything in common... sorry to burst you bubble
you can think whatever you want about global warming, i'm not here to convince you otherwise.
you talk about not ever having anything nice to say and you've just been maliciously following me around here just talking shit to me. you don't sound like you allow life to be kind and gentle to you if these are the kinds of things you are choosing to do with your time.

impending disaster is on the horizon. sometimes i think the beginning of the end is just around the corner and everyone is so oblivious to it.
i completely believe in global warming, and i hate that there is nothing SERIOUS being done about it. every summer there are record high temperatures, and general freak weather more often through out the year. it's gonna get to the point where we can't even go outside in the summer soon without our skin blistering, and it scares me sometimes to think about what the world will be like in just 4 or 5 years from now.
i think we passed the point of no return years ago, but it's still a good idea to prevent it from getting any worse. no one likes taking the bus or biking to get around, but it's about all i can do at this point (aside from littering etc) to help things from getting worse. i like the convenience of a car, but it also makes me angry to see 1 person per vehicle cruising around everyday...
we're gonna need nothing short of a miracle to save the world at the rate it's getting destroyed at. and the funny thing is, if everyone did their part and worked together we'd probably not even be in this position. some people can only care about themselves. this world makes me sick a lot of the time.
Word!!!
I've even discussed this issue in my blog... And it probably won't be the last time. I hate how people are so ignorant!!
