I just got the Phantom Hourglass. So far, I like it. It picks up right where Windwaker leaves off. Just out of curiosity, whats everyone's fav. Zelda game? Mine is still Ocarina Of Time, even though I have never beaten it, ya, I suck.

Here is another question...what do you think the chronological STORY timeline is, based on the games that are already released.
Here is what I think:
The Minish Cap
Four Swords
Ocarina Of Time
Majora's Mask
Four Swords Adventure
Oracle Seasons/Ages
A Link To The Past
The Legend Of Zelda
The Legend Of Zelda 2: Link's Adventure
Twilight Princess
Windwaker
Phantom Hourglass
Though I could be totally wrong.

The SNES one - Link to the past? (Should really remember as it's my favourite :P).
Windwaker - Think I liked this so much because my girlfriend at the time liked it as well. Made a change to actually be able to sit and play through it with her rather than being moaned at for playing games.
Twilight Princess.
Ocarina of Time.
The Legend Of Zelda 2: Link's Adventure.
Majora's Mask.
The Minish Cap.
Sold my DS 'cus there were no games out at the time but I'll be buying another to play through PH.
No idea on story timeline. I'm sure it was printed in a magazine I was reading though, no doubt you'll find it on a fan site or something.

I've loved Zelda since the first time I picked it up 20 years ago at the age of 4. It has been my favourite game series since then, and its the one thing I love more than hardcore. That being said I think Nintendo has done a great job with Phantom Hourglass, by not only building off the cell shaded style of windwaker, but brough something totally fresh with total stylus control. If you have been thinking at all about playing this game go out and pick it up!
As for your question about the chronological story timeline...you are basically opening a can of worms. One thing I will point out is that most people are in agreement that the NES games come after windwaker, and therefor after phantom hourglass...due to the flooding of hyrule.
Regardless of how much this is debated there is noone who will agree with this (ocarina of time and majoras mask shake it up with people talking about split timelines and young and old Link (the one who makes the jump to the future) following two separate paths). If your really into Zelda it can be a fun read...just be warned about the debate that surrounds it (which i think adds to the enjoyment of the series personally).
Edit: Oh and as for picking a favourite...thats hard I tend to have a great deal of nostalgia for the older games though, especially Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link because so many people dislike the game. Its different from the rest of the NES/SNES/GB style zelda games and probably one of the more difficult games in the series.

A Link To The Past
Links Adventure
Ocarina of Time
The Minish Cap
not being an elitist or anything, I felt that the overhead view worked a lot better, though none are really bad games. Can remember playing this custom zelda game I downloaded for PC too, though I dunno what it's called...that was ace.

i have to agree. the games kind of lost something when they went 3D. it's cool and all, but a link to the past overhead style is where it's at.
i've heard rumours that there may possibly be a remake of it actually...? i can't source that info at all though. can anyone say if they've heard something?

I'm buying an oldskool N64 to be able to play Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask again.
